I have a motorcycle i would like to trailer a round in the bed, but i need a ramp to get it in there, obviously, but what works and is better than others. What do youguys use and what shoudl i stay away from.

I am looking for a ramp that is foldable, and portable. because loading it in there is one thing, but at my destination i need to get it off, so portability is essenttial.

    please assist

Haven't got any suggestions, but have a few reccomendations - make sure you strap the ramp to the back of the truck so if the truck moves, the ramp moves with it. And make the ramp as flat as possible (by, if possible, having the ramp sit on higher ground than the truck).

Many a bad accident has happened loading bikes into trucks.

Here's what I use. Bike goes up one, I walk up the other using the bikes own power to help. Do it by myself all the time.
Go back down with it IN gear using the clutch and front brake to keep it under control (motor off).

sorry, not foldable. But no problem hauling them. Here's a couple of other pics of how the bike is secured along with the ramps.

oops, forgot about the tie down straps. I've always gotten them from Harbor Freight Tools. I travel a lot and use the crap out of the straps and have never had an issue.

I'm kinda cheap. I bought a $20 kit from auto zone and 2 2x10's. The kit had metal ends and bolts. They don't fold, but they work.

Tip: whatever you get, make sure they're long enough to lessen the angle. If you have a prerunner or 4x4 the gate sits up pretty high.

word. i've got a 4x4 W/3" lift and I have a crappy folding ramp from canadian tire. I'm too cheap to buy a new one, plus mine is small and easy to carry. I have found that strategically placing the truck in even a small dip in the makes a huge difference in the height of the tailgate from the ground.

another tip. not really necissary, but you *should* secure the ramp to the truck while unloading especially, cuz if you are going down an squeeze the brakes, ramps have a bad habit of sliding backwards.

Great reminder. I've always done this. I've seen it happen once...outcome was not so good.:(
