I have a 2002 tacoma prerunner, which has a factory lift of about 2-3"
I want to lift my front end another 2". (so 4-5" in front and 3" in back.)
If i use Bilsteins 5100 adjustable shocks, and adjust them to 2", will it add onto the 3" i already had, making my lift about 4"
Or will it be only 2", thus possibly lowering my truck an inch?[IMG]
Im confused about this, and if there are any other things i should know
THANK YOU FOR THE REPLIES! IM NEW! I APPRECIATE IT![IMG]

It would add... on the first gen (pre 2005) tacoma's you set the shocks to 0" and it will add lift. with stock coils i think it should add at least a couple inches

I'm not really sure what factory lift you are talking about?
but the Bilstien adjustables have 3 setting for 1st gens which are 0", .85", and 2.5".
if it is a spacer lift that you currently have then I would assume that it would just add on because the spacer would stay and the bilstiens would preload up to the desired height. but the max lift from the bilsteins will be 2.5".

This will however result in a very stiff ride. If you plan on offroading at all this would not necessarily be a suggested set up.
Some one else chime in here.

Sorry i meant that since prerunners have a higher "stock" height than a standard tacoma; with the shocks intalled, will it lift my truck 2" higher than it is currently?
(My truck is stock, so i did not add any blocks or spacers)
    Thanks!

1st gen 5100s have 3 settings: 0, 1.25, and 2.5. You move the clip to the position you want. From bottom to top on the shock tube, the lowest is 0, the middle is 1.25, the highest is for 2.5. If you set it on 0, it will be the same height as a stock Prerunner.
