My father in law is part of coastside. Used to go tag along with him at HMB at that very same place and sometimes haul his boat to that very same ramp. Then we'd camp out right there in the parking lot.

I used to love salt water fishing. Fished a lot growing up in Singapore with my dad (catching whatever I could at the beaches) and in Maui with him as well. We had a boat and a couple beefy rods and reels so we did a bit of deep water fishing. Mainly caught tuna when we did that. Fished off the beach and caught a lot of eels and various fish. Always catch and release, though. Also went on some charters and I've reeled in a lot more tuna, mahi mahi's, marlins and swordfish. I'm still learning fresh water fishing. I can't just throw some shrimp or tako on a hook and reel in fish haha. Apparently trout and salmon are Smarter. I love small mouth bass fishing as well.

I might be down. I haven't gone for salmon in freshwater in California in about 10 years.

But as I wrote that I got a text from a buddy that Alaska is only 60 days away :woot:

I've been commuting to San Leandro for the last couple of days and it SUCKS!

I've been working grave yard for the last few years and my work was less than 5 miles away from my house. So i never had to commute during commuting hours. Gas has never been an issue either, until now. lmao

    Good to be back finally.

SoCal fires are nuts on the way back home, thought there were huge clouds and a thunderstorm as we flew home until we got closer.
