So me and my buddy have been talking about installing some LED's around the Tacoma. We're thinking about doing it under the front seats and under the dashboard and driver side, but we're not very technical with these kinds of things. (Not a good start, I know).

So I wanted to come here to ask where I can get these ideal LED's, and how to install them. Any advice helps as this would be our first project on the Tacoma and wouldn't want to screw anything up.

I had this done on my Tacoma when I first got it but then realized it seemed "ricey" to me at least, so I took them out. I got 2 12" led bars from checker auto and mounted them for the footwells and had a person at ultimate electronics hook it up for me. Heres a pic of my "used to be" setup

We don't care much about the "ricer" look, we'd probably settle for white LED's or something more low key. I'm more worried about installation than where to find the product. We don't really want to pay for labor, and would probably feel more accomplished doing it ourselves. ;)

Yeah I know what you mean, I do remember how the guy installed them but I'm not very electrically savvy so I can't quite put it into words, but I am sure someone else can. Good luck:thumbsup:

Someone here on TW has LED's in their cupholders...

I like the cupholder idea, but anywehre else besides inside the console seems wierd.

Do you plan on installing LED's in place of the factory light bulbs in the MAP & DOME lights like most of us have done already?

I think it was a California member, and another Arizona member who both have experiance changing the gauge cluster LED's.

I found the thread and it's super helpful :). But I'm still open on some ideas without having to pay for labor.

Might just end up paying for labor.. really wouldn't want to screw something like that up.

Don't bother. It's way easy. Use the calculator below to figure out which materials you need.

You can get your LED's from several places like http://www.oznium.com/. Get your resistors and circuit boards from Radioshack and get to work. Just remember to fuse your work so there's no problems later on. If you need any help at all, feel free to ask and definitely check out that calculator link as it is an awesome resource.

How many leds provided this light? Sure looks bright! I'm thinking of the same thing but on a much more subtle level. My ex-wife had an Acura TSX and it had a small LED above by the sunglass holder, it emitted a faint blue glow which was really cool. Thanks for the pic!
