This to me sounds like the cleaner solution rather then modifying the mount itself. I would drill a new set of holes in the frame though rather then elongating. Last thing you want is that mount to slip along the frame rail while on the road.

It is looking more and more that fixed Shackle flips need to be mated to a particular aftermarket spring specifically for it to work correctly.

problem with drillin new holes, is that it can move the mount left or right/screw up the alignment of the mount while moving front to rear since our frames are tapered in this spot.

also, these are suppose to be built for the OME Dakar springs.

and my OME Dakar, maybe because they're aged, aren't producing like they were planned.

adam at ATO has looked at everything and is taking care of it.

True, but how far do you think it moves the mount if a new hole is drilled within 3/4" of an inch forward. Would it be within acceptable limits I wonder.

Yeah I know they are for the Dakars and I have seen other trucks with this set up working just fine. So I wonder if something else is at play here on Bob's truck?

i will post up with updates for sure.

performance you can see from the flex shots, that it works fine. but the angles just aren't "ideal"

hope to get it adjusted before moab, we'll see

so as much as i tried to have the truck ready well before the event...

once again will be doing work up to my departure for moab..

    sunday:
    rock lights
    remove hook under bumper
    get defined shackles to fit!

    monday evening/night:
    new shackle flip setup

    wednesday night:
test out new shackle flip setup

thursday (may now take off work):
plan B if i don't have time monday and wednesday for the shackles
    otherwise gather supplies and pack
    leave by 5pm latest

plan C: bring all my shit to moab and swap shit out at BFE :D

at least all the hard stuff is done on the flip

would be nice to find a way to fit my spare driveshaft in my bed without taking up needed space too.

    no room haha

i'm thinking of stuffing the short end angled down into the front passenger corner of my bed. then the long end will sit on the top of my spare tire that is mounted vertical in the back passenger side of my bed. then ratchet the shaft to the tire. my toolbox will keep the short end from moving around too much. idk

now that i have a spare, i would hate to not bring it with me on a long trip like this and need it for some reason.
