New guy in SoCal!!

Hello everyone, I'm Jeff and I just picked up an 03 DC taco with 80k miles, trd 4x4!!!!



First thing is first I am getting rid of the snugtop and bed rug.

I am not new to toyotas I have a 2005 4runner. Needless to say I am a toy nut!




Thanks to all the great info on here, I searched a lot of great info on what to look for before buying this great looking 03 Tacoma.

Going to sell the trailer and the snugtop and make the Tacoma more of an overland explorer.

 

Only 80K? Geez, the engine on your taco hasn't even broken in yet!

80,791 miles on the clock!!

I wanted a white or the desert color but I could not find one and when I saw this one I could not pass it up for the amount of miles it had!!! I totally scored.

The color is growing on me!

Can't wait to get this thing outfitted!

Well after having my truck for about 6 weeks, I finally started modding it out.

Allpro coilovers,
Upper arms
Leaf springs (standard duty) kit
Frontrunner bed rack,
CVT RTT
255/85/R16 KM2s
Full skid plates
Ultra gauge
Ram mount iPhone holder

Next on the list is a Thule rack with mountain bike carrier.

I added some new additions to the truck

 

Added
trail gear front and rear bumpers, trail gear slider (not on yet)

Tiregate and a 255/85/16 spare

Yakima roof rack
Yakima rocket box
Yakima mountain bike carrier

Frontrunner feather light awning (which is awesome)

Arb 50l fridge with frontrunner slide
Have not put the slide in yet as I am going to take out the back seats and add a platform .

Yeah I have the bug.

I have a 05 runner that I built up which was supposed to Last me a while but my dad fell on hard times so he is borrowing that for now. I just could not stay away from not having something fun to drive so I picked up the taco to try something a little different than what I have had in the past. So far I love the taco, not as good as my old 80 series or the 4runner but still a great truck right out of the box.

How do you like that CVT? I'm in the market and have considered one of those puppies. Good looking build. Jealous of how fast it came together!

 

Flash; the CVT Is great, I analyzed each of the RTT makers and my conclusion was that CVT had good quality at a good quality price point. I have used it and it has not failed yet. For the $$ it's the best buy out there I think.

Good to hear. Based on price point it's hard to find a well build/easy to set up RTT that can withstand weekly use. I'll have to check out it. Looking forward to see what else you can do with this truck. Lovin' it so far!

The CVT RTT really has held up very well. And I use my stuff. I don't hold many punches with my trucks.

That would be awesome, stop by there is alway cold beer for people that like toyota's .
