Yeah it's rough(not really that bad). I started over at a new department so I'm a rookie until September. That makes it a little tougher.

 

That sucks! I am third on the list at Pueblo PD, so if I get hired for their Septemberish academy. I have to go through police academy again and then FTO again and be a rookie again. So I feel your pain.

 

Good luck hope you get it. It's fun being the new guy for me though. But I knew my LT that I have pretty well before I started. So that helps.

 

Well nevermind my buddy just text me and said that city council voted not to hire any new cops or fireman until 2015. I got my conditional letter of employment from the DEA so as long as I pass everything that's left and they don't go into a hiring freeze I'm in.

I hope you get in, DEA was my dream job. But until you have a date assigned to attend the academy, you are SOL, and with the Fed Govt sequester, pretty much everithing is in the air.

I hiring freeze ennacted right before getting my academy date, prevented me from joining the DEA. I don't wish that on anyone. It was lifted just before I was about to turn 37 so now I'm age limited to join.


If like the FBI, the DEA would remove the age limit to honorable discharged vets, I'd quit my job as DOI Revenue Agent, in a heartbeat!
