I had the rear leaf TSB done today on my 2010 DCLB Sport. I noticed with my new cap and a little weight in the back it was bottoming out. I know I should upgrade to something better, but this didn't cost me a thing. It lifted the rear up about an inch. The leafs are darn near flat right out of the garage. One thing I noticed right away was the smell of spray paint. Is it possible they just added a leaf and painted them up, so they looked good? Here are some pics.
Also, I was eight weeks out of the 36-month 36k limit. At that point I had only owned the truck for eight weeks (bought it used). After a call to dealership I bought it from, and a call to Corpo, they hooked me up.

Maybe they painted them for protection against rust? :notsure:

When my TSB was done it didn't smell like paint at all. But I only had my truck for about 2 weeks.

In that picture it looks like it was painted. You can see a line where fresh paint didn't hit all the springs to the right where the spring aligner piece is.

You can definitely see the paint line. I wasn't going to complain because I was out of date and they hooked me up by doing the TSB. You guys think I should at least question it?

Yeah, I don't get the whole painting it unless they installed used springs or something. Smells fishy, I mean painty.

The springs could have just been sitting for a while and had some surface rust. Either that or they put an AAL into your old leaf pack and coated them to make it look nice. Either way, I think it's good that they took the time to at least make things look good and help protect against future rust.
