So I've had my 2012 Tacoma Prerunner for a little over a year now. I currently have the chance to do a straight trade to a guy for his 1967 Shelby Cobra with the 347 stroker engine. I love my Tacoma, but do not necessarily need a truck. I have 25k miles on the truck. Anyone have any advice for me? Is it worth it? Here is the link to the Cobra:

Do you have the tools/knowledge to fix it if something breaks? This bad boy doesn't come with a warranty... just a thought.

Yes it is a kit car. I don't know too much about them, but have always really liked them. I looked at it as an opportunity since I probably wouldn't have the money one day to get one where hear I could do a straight trade.

Although the Cobra (if not a kit) is badass, it would make a terrible DD.

What are you gonna do if it rains?

    Check how much insurance is.

    Are you a gear head?

Thanks for the opinions. I'll keep the truck and maybe another opportunity will come up one day to get one as a weekend driver.

He's asking $35,000. I don't think your Tacoma will net that unless you have a ton of money into it.
Plus it will either get stolen, crashed, or broke, then what ya going to have?

That's why I figured it could be a good deal...most cobras in the condition of this one usually sells for 30k-50k. My Tacoma wouldn't come near that. The guy simply needs a truck and doesn't have room for the cobra, so he says.

This is true. True cobra's are over 500k in good condition. You'd have to be rich to own one. That's why almost every one you see is a kit car.
