That was one of my original choices, though I couldn't find a 315/75r16 in stock when I was buying tires. I've been very happy with my MTZ's though. I Need new tires bad right now, I think the Destination MT 315's are back in production. They had an 8 month backorder last time I looked. Might go with those...

I've always had MTZs or STTs. I really like Coopers and i love that they're silent. Im sticking with 265/70/17s so it keeps my selections wide open. It was either STTs or Trail Grapplers and the $400 difference sealed the deal. I have toyota hook ups for install so its just tire pricing.

Ah I gotcha, yeah the 315/75r16 destination MT's are $260ish I think. I think I paid 265-270 a piece for my MTZ's and now two years later they are $330 a piece!!! WTF

Nope - as far as 4Runners go, you only get the gear drive transfer case behind the W56 manual trans, and you only find that behind the 22RE in the first gen. Second gen 22RE trucks had the R150, which is a chain drive, and all the automatics of either gen had chain drive cases.

Paid like $300 a piece for my 315 MTZ's shipped from 4wheelparts. Best deal I could find on them. Worth the money though, one of the best tires out there.

I'm gonna get a front and rear carrier from a manual FJ. That way I will bump from 3.73 to 3.93 and I will have the rear e-locker! Minimal modifications and much cheaper than an ARB setup!

When? cuz they are at 330 right now and even with the "put it in the cart and save $" option they still come out to 317. are you talkin about the mail in rebate too?

Yeah but they rape you on shipping, or just make up the difference - im in northern cali and to ship 4 tires, their quote is $334.05. Good price on tires though @ $265 a piece. Total before tax w/ shipping is $1400. They're down in Cerritos so I'm unable to pick em up. It would be the same price going through 4wheelparts up here.

I got them during a sale.. think it was Labor Day. I called them and got them to knock it down to $300 with shipping. That's the only time I'll do business with them is during major sales. I got my ARB bumper from them a while back for $700 shipped, which was during a memorial weekend sale I think. Just gotta call and haggle. :D

Ah i gotcha, yeah in Tucson a mechanic friend of mine who worked for toyota for years got a job at 4wheelparts and gave me a great deal, but I was buying tires and wheels together lol BUT, the retail price when they came out was $290 i believe.

The only thing I like about 4wp is how fast they can get tires. I ordered em after work and they overnighted them from Sac and I picked them up had discount tire install the next day.

I don't understand why tires for 15's and 16's are still so expensive. Makes no sense to me. 4WP will get me in trouble if I'm not careful. As will Amazon! lol

Awesome.. I need to start getting the cleaning supplies ready myself so I can wash the ol' dirty girl soon.
