I was doing it since that's all I could do to start getting used to it until my CC came in the mail. I've been lucky and only have gotten positive comments about it when I wear it.

You do understand that knowingly carrying a concealed weapon, permit or not against private property rules means your permit is considered invalid thus now you are illegally concealing a firearm and risking your permit?

I live in Parker and doubt anyone would even bat an eyelash over it. I've seen several folks OC and while I think its nice to be able to exercise your constitutional right to OC I just prefer CC.

I wonder though sometimes, what would happen if I walked into Kings with my 11.5" suppressed build slung over my strong side. :D

Please show me the proof of that. I just skimmed thru RMGO and found nothing that backs up your previous statement.

Think if anyone had stopped the aurora theater shooting with a CCW they would have been charged?

I bet so. You hear about peoples houses getting broken into and then the thief gets hurt in the house and sues the homeowner and wins..... its fucked up, but shit like that happens. Illegal is illegal, no matter what the outcome is.

Not true. Signs prohibiting firearms do not hold weight of law in the state of Colorado. The only places you can't carry are those designated by state law: schools, post offices & such. Signs don't mean shit in Colorado thankfully nor have they ever. The most they can ask you to do is leave & if you refuse you may be charged with trespassing.

But if I recall correctly the theater had nothing posted saying you could not have a gun there. I could be wrong as my memory sucks.

I have no idea either, my point is if its illegal to carry and you do, no matter if you stop a bank robbery, or anything else, its still illegal, and you can still be charged.

A citizen doesn't have the power to strip rights of other law-abiding citizens & this has been upheld at the Colorado District Court thankfully. I laugh at signs & take mental note to take my business elsewhere.

I agree. I believe the issue lies more in state and federal law prohibiting weapons in the buildings vs signs which from what I am reading here so far don't mean shit. :)

Glad Jer hopped on, figured he would.

You guys need to be versed in the LAWS before you carry and I am not trying to sound condescending when I say this. Its a matter of life and death. I will not ever be a victim and if carrying into a theater that has a no guns sign posted means I break their rule, so be it. I am not breaking any state or federal laws and my permit is not in danger of revocation.

But you'll be alive to stand trial. Personally I don't plan to play hero especially if I'm in an area where firearms are 'frowned' upon. My firearms are to protect me & mine and there's no shame in running first if there's egress. You may be legally within your right to shoot and free of criminal charge but the aforementioned shit storm of civil suits make retreat the best option IMO. You can do what you like & I support any legal decision you make in a split second to use force or not but I'm no hero. Hero's end up broke or worse in this nation.
