Wait for his 9 page dissertation. :D jk OST. He knows a lot about it. I was not arguing with you I was just stating I check that site on the reg and for some reason the sign is law was the only one flip flopping this year.

i agree completely. I have family in federal law enforcement and he tells me the same. I dont carry, I never wanted to, just another thing to go wrong.

Websites are flawed & hold zero legal weight. If you own firearms (especially if carried for self defense) take a moment to locate the NRA's list of attorneys that specialize in gun law & make an appointment to meet with one & get them on retainer. Not something you want to do after the fact.

They hold zero weight in court, but that web site is always updating the current information and it has kept me out of court knowing the rules and regs when they change. Im not about to lose my job over something stupid, because i guarantee if a Firefighter is carrying in a "sign posted" area during a time it is law, I would make headlines. Think what you want I like my job and will keep checking that website. And I know about the NRA and what they will do for you.

I think you missed the first sentence of that post as it was the most important. Better to have one & not need it than need on & not have it. I carry everywhere. Period. No qualifiers. If a situation ever arises I will do everything I can to flee. If I'm forced to present & fire I'll rest easy knowing I had no other option & will face whatever legal ramifications come my way. But I'll be alive. Playing hero doesn't afford you those same ideals.

That's your choice & I can't fault you for choosing to err on the side of caution but that's what the law is & how it's been. There have been plenty of 'firearm law websites' that have come & gone over the years for either providing misinformation or not keeping up with current changes. As for the NRA, I'm not preaching that you donate or become a member at all. They have a great list of attorneys who specialize in gun law across the nation that is VERY useful if you support the NRA or not. That's all.

I'm happily a member of the NRA actually I think it's about renewal time for me. I know it's my choice that's why I do it. :D

Either way who is bringing me a sammich, I'm frigging hungry.

PS. Anyone see the pizza Phil had yesterday from hops and pie. It looked amazing.

It was a Leo source who told me this....besides why would you go against with what the rules say? To me, that's almost asking for trouble

It's like this...I ask you not to carry in my house and you do, you're going against my (private property rules) rules. Private property rules are private property rules.

Believe me, I'm pro ccw and I work in a retail environment and have had to enforce this a free times. (As much as I don't agree with it) as simy ask them to leave...and if they don't, then they may be charged with trespassing just as you said. However, why would any law abiding citizen want to take it that far?

yeah, I didn't read your whole post. Id still rather not carry. Odds are you are not going to be in that situation, and now its likely that others will be carrying.

I agree. I don't carry to play superhero if I see a 7-11 being robbed...I would be the best witness I can. Now, if I have a good family member or friend in there and suspect(s) points the firearm at them...that may be a different story. I carry to protect my wife from being assaulted and children from being kidnapped.
