Just read on the Lift FAQ guide, the author thinks a carrier bearing drop kit is a not a good idea. Can anyone explain this too me. I was planning on getting one when I order my lift.

I personally think the CB drop kit drops it too much. Ideally, it should only be dropped 1/2" to 2/3". I suggest useing larg washers to space it, and get the desired drop, only if you have vibes after the lift.

So I should install my lift and wait to see if it vibrates?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Yeah the toytec drop kit is 3/8, I used one on mine but like Chris and Will have said just get some washers or drill out a piece of flat stock and it will work the same. Overall I bought it because with all the $'s I spend whats another few bucks to have everything you need when doing the install but now that I know I would just make my own.

    Bringing this up...

    Just no lectures please...

Replaced my carrier bearing about 2 months ago after it went bad.

    '06, prerunner, buy the way.

springs and block in the rear, no lectures please.

Any hoo, was getting weird squeaking from somewhere.
Took it to stealership, they said I need to get my drive line lengthened?

They said is was the current angle on the drive line?

If so, will a carrier bearing drop of say, 1 in help?

Crazy screeching when I decelerate. Other then that, no vibes no noise.

    Thanks everyone for you help.

Is that monotone screeching, pulsated screeching, or decreasing screeching?

For the OP, wait until you lift and feel takeoff vibes. Try washers first to see if it helps (because washers are cheap), then purchase a kit. Call the manufacturers first to verify the amount of drop.
