    2005 4.0 Tacoma Code P0420/P0430; thought I had it beat with changing the mass air flow sensor, but after the truck cooled off i took it out again and the check engine light came on. So does it look like it is a bad cat, or O2 sensor?

    I see the two after the header, where are the other two? Still can't find a replacement online either, is there a generic cat I can get? I think this is going to get expensive...

    There are the two after the header and two after the last O2 sensor, sandwiching the tranny.

    They should still be under federal warranty. Have you take it back to or spoken with a dealer?

    I have an appointment for friday, hopefully they'll replace them. It looks like the first two cats are part of the header, I don't see a flange.

    Yeah, you should have a sensor then cat then sensor then cat. The other side will be the same.

    Yup, thats the setup. So in order to replace the cats you have to replace the header as well huh? Man I hope it's warrantied or it's gonna be pricey.

    Power is good, with all the soot that's blown out of my tailpipe I doubt there's much left inside the cat to create an obstruction. I read the post you put up about the federal regulation governing emissions components so, hopefully they won't give me a ration of $*** about it, and just fix it.

    Dealership replaced the cats/headers (one piece), no questions asked. I saw the total and it was nearly $2,000 for parts/labor, i'm glad it was warrantied. Thanks for all of the info....
