Putting a 3" procomp lift on this 2012. Also installing these nice wheels and tires he supplied. This belongs to Bcbaseball9. It's funny how much difference a wider wheel with deeper offset makes. I have the same size tire but his seem so much wider.

Can anyone recommend a good, affordable (preferably $200-$300) 9mm or other handgun? I was talking with a co worker today who recently picked up a hi point 9mm for ~$150 that he likes. Looking around the webs, hi points reputation is somewhat iffy....

I'm just looking for something I can take to the range for target practice and something decent enough for self defense should the need ever arise. A few friends have suggested going to the pawn shops and seeing what they have, but I figured TW would probably be a far better place for info/suggestions.

Also, since I'm in an apartment, whats the best storage solution? Hard case and a trigger lock?

There's no such thing as "decent enough for self defense". It's you life, and you should only trust it with something that you consider the best.

i recommend my keltec pf9. bought new for 260ish about 6 months ago. have over 250 rounds not one problem. only cleaned it once after about 100 rounds.

your best bet is go to a range and rent a few different guns in that range and see which you like

Please please please don't buy a Hi point, I've shot with one before and I would never trust my life with that thing. As Mike said, If you are going to use this to possibly defend your life don't cheap out. Not saying you need to go buy the best of the best, but if you up your price limit to around 500 you will have much much better options. Go to a range that allows you to rent guns and just test drive a few and see what you think. The CZ's that Jim posted are nice guns too, they are just a bit hard to find used. As for storage solutions if you are going to use the gun for self defense you need it easily accessible. As long as you don't have kids or roommates I would skip the hard case and trigger lock and just leave it in a drawer close to your bed or something.
