What sunglasses do you rock?

Same idea... but just from the other side. I rely on my irises to adjust the incoming light intensity suitable for my eyes.

 

Not trying to argue, but I doubt people are really depending on or harming there eyes by wearing "good" shades.. Cheap ones yeah they're letting the UV light eff them harder in the eyeball because there eye is now dilated open more.

You're eyes are still getting the UV damage..

as someone who lives in a place where the UV index is in the "Extreme" levels most of the year

and as someone who developed cataracts while in high school...

It's ok for each of us to state our different views and to explain how they contrast. When sunglass dependent people get old, most will graduate to the big black mushroom wraparound shades because they can't cope with outdoor ambient light conditions.

I totally agree. That's even worse than shades dependence.

I consider the huffpo a dubious source because feminized liberals are afraid of everything. Instead, I go by my own personal life experience, because I'm already old, never use shades, and don't even need regular glasses. And I spend a lot of time outdoors.

People think of the physical stress of exercise to keep their bodies healthy and fit, but never think of exercise to keep their eyes healthy and fit. Adjusting to constantly changing light conditions keeps our eyes healthy and fit. Shades make lazy eyes.

 

Well if I make it to be an old fart, I sure hope I never graduate to big black mushroom wraparound shades, that's for sure. Course they might be cool then who knows..
As far as the article I was more or less talking about the picture, thought it was a good example of UV damage.. Not a big fan of the feminized Al Gore type sissy's either..
When it's all said, I'm sure most would agree there's a lot of variables involved with your eye's health just like anything , genetics, exposure blah blah etc. Rock on Shadeless

oakley flak jackets Rx persimmon (I was light sensitive back in january due to head trauma and coma, and these worked great....still use em for night driving).

Gunna order another set of Rx flaks in dark grey lenses..... uv protection of the windshield doesn't let transitions do their job, and these will be handy on 16hr workdays driving home in the morning.
I don't wanna deal with lens swaps, so I have multiple sets of glasses via US Standard Issue. Price is right, so why not?

Thought bout lasik, but doesn't it only last 5-7yrs for men as opposed to women?

 

no it last like 20+ years. my brothers are 29 and almost 31 now, and the older one had it done like 4 or 5 years ago, and the other one had it done about 3 years ago maybe 4. neither are even close to having to do it agin.

edit: idk if it’s 20 years or what. but i think my brothers were told like 15 or 20+ years till they have to do it agin. But i think it has a lot to do with how old you are when you first have it done. They were both in their mid 20’s or so when they had it done.

Glasses keep my eyes shielded which is an added bonus, but nice to know the procedure lasts quite a while after all

 

yeah it last longer then the 5 or 7 years. if it was that short my oldest brother would be about do to have it done agin. I know i made sure he did the drops like every hour when he came home. they give you drops that you HAVE TO DO! and do like every hour or so that first day or 2. also they say to keep them on you for like 2 or 3 weeks and do them any time your eyes MAYBE dry. your not suppose to let your eyes get dry for a few weeks. and I know that first day, you have to stay in a very dark room.

Did they get the "halo" issue under control?

I heard (same person of course lol) that they had halos in their vision for like a year after the procedure....that also skeeeered me away......besides the whole laser in eyeball thing in general.....its amazing the shit we can do now isn't it?

 

yeah you do. but when you think about it, it your eyes and you kinda need them the rest of your life. and they said it’s nice not to have to keep up with glasses or put contacts in so you can see.

and nether one has any issue with “halo” I don’t think they even had the halo problem at all!! if they did it was not very long.


and yeah it’s crazy the stuff they can do these days! Thing that sucks for me, is i wear my contacts (daylies) so much that i can’t see as good with glasses so i hate wearing them even more. I think it’s because my eyes are so use to the lenses being right on my eye that when i have glasses on its (in size reverence 100X+ farther a way) that they just can’t adjust to them very well. Every morning first thing i do is get up get my contacts and put them in. Only time I wear my glasses is if I can’t sleep or i am sick, So MAYBE average about 5 days a month at the most. It’s 1am and i still have my contacts in since like 9am yesterday.

 

Damn..... I can't wear contacts......oc spray and contacts I hear isn't a good idea.

Maybe ill reconsider lasik, but still wear transistion oaks, just not Rx.

I know first hand axe body spray sucks! but I can’t really see out of glasses anymore so it would suck to try and go back. and I don’t think I’ll ever be sprayed with OC or anything. I’d rather tack the 5 second ride agin from a tazer. I have done that and it only sucked for 5 seconds. I hear OC can last for days on your skin and burn any time you take a shower or wash your hands.

 

Oakley 5 squared. took a serious beating, replaced the lenses after destroying them, still wearing them years later. And they're one of the few oaks that don't look bro-tastic
