What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

You could build something out of 2x4s for the conopy to sit on and if you're concerned about it weathering, make a little roof for it with a tarp. You could take it a step further and make it tall enough to back your truck under for easier loading/unloading. I put mine on in the winter and off for the summer.

 

I've only done one flush. Every 30K I do drain and fills. When I flushed I disconnected the return line into a milk jug, started the truck to flush about 4 qrts. Stop the truck and fill 4 qrts. My buddy helped me and we did this 4-5 times till you see bright red fluid. What helps to keep the fluid red is to install a cooler after the radiator cooler.

At the time I bought two cases of Redline D4, expensive yes. Now I use Amsoil Universal ATF.

 

i just picked up my truck about 3 weeks ago, did oil and filter last week, and just got done doing plugs and air filter. when i pulled the filter out there was about a coffee can sized amount of fine white sand, like beach sand, in the filter and sitting in the air box

 

Changed the oil and rotated the tires. Really the only attention my truck has gotten in a while...

Washed it and brought the fender flares back to life with Mothers back to black!!

 

Did the back to black work well for you? I've used it multiple times on my fender flares and never really got much results. lol it seems like once it dries it goes back to the color it was before.

 

I've had good luck with penetrol on my flairs. I should make a how to thread but to be honest I just copied it from another thread on a jeep forum.

 

extended my rear brake line and installed coil overs and serviced my supercharger and installed my cb radio ready to head out to moab Utah

 

If this is NOT a pisser. I have to replace my winch motor.... Used it twice to pull other people out and it never been under water.. WTF...

Not very impressed with warn.. Still wish i could have put a mile marker hydraulic one.

Not hard. The outlet of the radiator cooler which is on the drivers side. Disconnect the line going back into tranny. That way you flush the cooler as well.

 

a friends of mine had to replace his motor in his m8 a month ago too.... hes been mean to his tho

 

^Weird, I haven't heard of Warn motors going out. I've been hard on mine for a few years now and haven't had a problem... maybe I should see if there is some maintenance to do to it...

Just put a Homelink in the headliner if my Tacoma and my wife's 4 Runner. They look so nice.

 

Mine is 9.5 xp.... Inside the motor is trashed with RUST... All i can think of the drain hole got plugged up and water backed up and flooded the motor.. When i hit the power it made a nice firework inside...


I think im going to do a shield around the motor keep the rain off of it and its in a ARB bumper..
