I was thinking something a little more flamboyant, like a penis with a cowboy hat, and spurs on the balls.

That's the problem going flapless on the front, over time there will be a lot of nicks up on the doors and the rear fenders.

the angle of the dangle seems to be keepin the doors and rockers good but by the time yah get back to the box there is some exposure. I ganked about 2-1/2" maybe 3. Had I left a bit more inplace I suspect there would be enough coverage.

or I could slow down a bit on the bush roads...... nah not gonna happen :)

Then make plates and put them in between. That would save your paint a lot more, just sayin'.

sliders do help a ton, and painting them with rockguard/bed liner would help them from gettin shot peened. I have visions between my ears of a simple swap out system for times when I need them, Threadserts or twistlocks maybe.

I'm with you, not a fan of inserts, they just catch crap and keep it. There are a couple of roll on urethane liners that go on thick and stay flexible, Goor ole undercoat also works well.

x2 I like my RokBlokz. They're off right now since I need a cab mount chop and to trim my fenders in preparation for 285's. Right now I'm running 265/75-16 Revo 2's on 16x8 4.5" BS Countersteers. Here's some pics and mini-review:

    P1000874_zpsce4ef20f_451818ad32bcf6abc629044bd33a826a1858ac45.jpg

    P1000878_zpscca5850f_fff4b974abea3d0ceececd1600f34b82fb0e2d73.jpg

    P1000879_zps544d5a08_1abb3a9f2d33ddfe611830525757f19f0faabc11.jpg

I'm going to bevel the washers so the screw heads sit down a little more flush, but that's just because I'm picky like that. Here's how they mount so you can see what I mean:

    P1000880_zps685067fa_f65fcd68a99d8e313dbc59f259d9465c4c680c88.jpg

    P1000881_zps95efde3c_6ea62ff276ae3674438e6e23d5a946f70cb49072.jpg

FYI there is some adjustability built into these flaps so you can move them inward or outward a bit. As far as their combination of durability and flexibility, I dragged these guys through Box Canyon and to Four Peaks with a stock suspension and they held up great: http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.aspx?trailid=BGS114-121

Definitely a well packaged, well thought out product

Agreed, my sliders look identical. I take my flaps off at the start of trails and put back for the road. I don't speed on trails so with sliders, no damage from flying rocks is likely. Not much else can be done,

What I was getting at was a clean method of swapping on and off stock lenght flaps in the front. Or a way of popping on extensions.

I already ripped off my driver side one, had my truck about 3 days and took it down a really delicate class 6 road for shits and giggles in my new (first ever) truck.

Get back off the class 6 and do a walk around, see my mud flap is gone.

I could have just about driven a car down this class 6 and I lost a fucking flap. Going to get some aftermarket ones as some of the roads I drive on around here have the perfect size rocks for grabbing and spitting them.
