What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

ugh that blows. mine starting making odd noises.... so i cleaned it all out and relubed. much better now.

 

230 i found to replace it.. I thinking on making a rain guard for it so rain water goes around it.. ..

I want to make another as verification before trying to market it. I can't invest in another one until this one is sold.

I'm going to paint this one before I sell it.

 

Relocated my turn signals to the corners. Super easy.
Then, removed the valence thing and attached my 20" light bar and wired it up. It was easier to run the cables through the firewall then i expected. Planning to dremel the valence so i can fit it back on there around the light.

that looks like a beefy bumper! if it were me i would slim it down a little on the amount it sticks off the back of the truck and the corners. but i do like the overall design of it, what are you charging?

 

Repainted my front bumper, sliders and skids. Truck is looking a lot better now.

 

Oh you know, mounted my brand new 33x10.5x15 siped KM2's on my SummitRacing 84-5883 rims... Mounted my bumper and my skids. Then wheeled it. And trashed the sidewall of my passenger rear tire about 2 minutes after the last pictures.

 

Nice pics! So what exactly happened to the sidewall? Did it puncture the tire, or just eat up the aesthetic rubber? Looks like more pics are in order.

 

Traded my old stock radio for an old side-mount tool box haha. I traded it to a friend of my granddaddy whose stock radio in his '00 4banger quit working. It had just been sitting in my backseat since February so I wouldn't let him pay me for it.. But he insisted that he pay me in some form. He had an old side-mount box in his back yard that he didn't want, so he just gave me that and we called it even haha.

As you can see, obviously I have to repaint it. (Hell it was free lol ) I plan on spraying it with wal-mart duplicolor self etching primer and bedliner. Any suggestions on how to prep this flaky mf'er? (Oh and pardon the fact that I haven't washed my truck since I pulled my flares haha, hence the "tan line")

 

So how bad did you mess up your tire, pics would be nice too

 

Cleaned my Maf and AFE Prodry filter. 30K since the last cleaning. My cursing rpm dropped 100-150 less than before cleaning.

 

It will come in some when I mount it for good. I have it pulled out for polishing. I made it the same width as the stock bumper but I think I will take an inch or 1.5" off the total width. It's beefy as hell. I pulled 2500 lbs with it today, on and off road, no problem. I'm going to paint this one and sell it for around $475, then build another one with a few modifications to make production easier. I think I would like to be at $575 with bumper and integrated hitch. I will probably do a group buy for a little less. 3/8" mounting brackets and 3/16" everywhere else. 1" wide shackle mounts. Cutouts for 4" round lights flush mounted.

 

this is why ill never buy a bumper online. Once im done with my welding classes and get my own welder ill be building my own.

 

I don't know what you're shocked about. There isn't much profit in it for me at that price.

 

agreed, already almost done with welding classes and about to build one either this summer or next

 

Changed my clutch master and slave cylinders. Fixed my issues. Now it just feels like the mechanical aspects of my clutch are probably on their way out. But the originl clutch has 166,000 miles on it so it's expected I guess.
