PROBLEM are all Y-pipes created equal?

I ordered the Doug Thorley Pipe Bomb Y pipe through URD. As I wait for Gadget to get back to me thought I would post this issue here. I am not worried about getting this situation handled as my past experience with Gadget is that he will go out of his way to help you.

After removing stock Y pipe and installing Doug Thorley, it ends up being around eight inches short. I believe all Y pipes are the same size right? If there were any differences for cab length, I would think it would be after the Y pipe for toyota's sake. Easier to extend the pipes after the Y pipe then to have different Y pipes on different sized tacomas.

Let me throw some pictures in here so you all can pay attention.

Also notice that these new pipes don't have the resonators that take the place of the cats like in the pictures/

Notice the side with the single out, that goes to your catback system, it seems kinda short right?

Measuring from the pink post it notes, these came up roughly 28 1/2 inches.

That ends up being about right here

This is my hand for a visual measuring reference,

A rough measure of the stock Y pipe, is about 36 1/2 inches long, so the Doug Thorley is about eight inches short.

I know I could easy go to an exhaust shop and get this fixed, but money is tight and when a product says "Ypipe-Toyota trucks, 2005-08, 4.0l 2/4wd, with resino, and it should fit without modification, well it doesn't.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone want to measure a Y pipe that's not on a double cab and tell me the measurements? Well if anything hope you enjoyed the pictures.

That is weird that Y pipe looks like it makes a HUGE U TURN. That kinda defeats the purpose a little bit. Why the heck would they desing it like that. I bet the jig was messed up and there are probably a bunch of them out there that may be defective.
Get a new one, no need to jerry rig it.

Lol the huge U turn wraps around the transfer case. Didn't have camera at the time of install, to bad so I could have shown the shortness.

That is a DT Y pipe for a different Toyota truck, the FJ most likely.

I will have the correct one sent out and arrange a return on the wrong one.

    Very sorry about that.

Trust the duck tape. In fact you need more duct tape.
