First time I think I've seen a 4" lift for 2nd gens. But I don't think it's worth installing a DB lift for an extra inch.

 

RCD used to (or still might) make a 4" DB lift. I don't think they're all that bad, just depends on what you want to use the truck for I suppose.

 

I just got an email back from crutchfield. I contacted them cause they never shipped the harness for the speakers. It will ship in am as well as mounts. I took the panels off today to prepare for install

This is a 6"

 

The link above list a 4" and a 6" DB lift. To me, not really worth it to spend all that money for the kit, cut up the cross member, and actually lose clearance between the front tires.

I'd rather get the 5100's (3") and a top plate spacer (1") to make 4" lift. If the CV joints and other suspension components suffer too much (no down travel), could just turn down the 5100's to 2".

I dunno, everyone always says that about DB lifts but they let you clear larger tires (which is really the only way you actually increase ground clearance). Just the drop bracket lift itself would lower ground clearance but throw some big ass tires on there and I would guess that you'll end up with more ground clearance than you started with.

Right now I don't plan on running anything more than 33's

The first part of your statement is not true on IFS. If you measure your lifted truck with a stock truck even with the same size tire you have more ground clearance (at least on the front of the truck). The rear axel will be the same.
DB's move the truck up but doesn't give any more ground clearance. You have to run larger tires to get a DB truck to have the same ground clearance as a 3" lift on 33's. The larger tires burn more gas and put way more stress on the rest of the components never mind the fact that you cut away the beefiest crossmember on the frame.

A little. Not to much. Johnny said he hates mud so I asked if he goes on that site too but he had never heard of it so I posted the link. Apparently tons of Toyota stuff over there.

 

I would tend to agree. If you want to go over 3" and be trail worthy you need to go long travel or SAS. Either way you pay to play.

 

I really like the idea of doing a 3" susp lift and 1 " BL to achieve a nice 4" lift and be trail worthy. PSU taco I believe rocks that combo and the 1" BL isnt bad looking.
