military no longer under civilian command?

So I just read the military can deploy on american cities without the orders coming from the civilian leadership. Is this even true

Hmm it still seems to be a huge step in the wrong direction

 

2 Things:

1. Everything that comes out of Iran is propaganda, I see no reason why that article would be any different.

2. This quote from the Long Island Press:

tells me this is probably domestic propaganda. The US military does not have the power to modify US Code. That's something that only the executive and legislative branches have the ability to do.

Also, the first paragraph in the "new law" says exactly:

That is pretty clear, that the Army and Air Force cannot be used to execute US law unless authorized by the US constitution, the US President, or Congress.
