Hi Doug. Just want to say it's freakin' awesome how you re-purpose salvage parts to achieve your objectives with your truck. You really know your stuff. It's just uber-cool. :D

I have a question for you about whether my springs are trashed. They do sag in that 10" section you were talking about, but I'm not sure what you consider bent. Can you give me an opinion from these pics?

I'd really like to do the Ranger spring mod and delete the AAL. It sounds like it might be the cheapest way to go.

    Thanks!

first off doug you are the man, Thank you for giving me the advice and instructions on what to do thanks to your help I was able to get rid of my 3 inch block. anyone who has questions go to doug he is the man. Here are some before and after pics I have already tested them out in the desert and loading 1000 lbs they took it like champs. I added 4 leafs and left the overload my donor springs were not arched very much is why I added so many to achieve the lift height I wanted.

Ha, yeah i can see it too...:)

Hey thank YOU for the kind words.....

I'm on the fence about yours, i see the sag but from angles given it looks like it could be bent , get me a couple pics "straight on" with priority being on the hanger (forward) end, if its bent, your done sadly, but we'll see...

Hi Clifford, yeah yours have same old warp, but rebuildable....

Thats Great to hear stephan !! & WOW, that is a stout looking pack, looks fuckin great IMO !! well done, hows the ride ?? gotta be better than blocks right ?...:thumbsup:

Nice..... personally i like a firm ride, always have, my stock susp was to the point that my hyundai or my saturn took bumps better, thats what prompted me to start this thread...:)

    Oh no worries Lee.....

I dont have to say this much luckily but your mainsprings are door stops, done, its a very gentle neg ARC , unusual.. usually they bend with a "hump" so its easy to spot, your not so much... I'm sorry man..:(

Yeah theres a fix for that issue , my buddy tyler (Pelfrey offroad) machined some compression plates for me with 3/8" holes , ran some 3/8" all thread cut to length, tightened down with Nylocks til the plates start to warp over the springs, done, its now a compression clamp, I've been using a self tapper to the thin metal bracket on cable to the spring clamp installed...;)

Well framis. I kinda suspected that they were toast with how they looked kinda axle wrapped sitting static. The truck is turning into a money pit, but I guess once I get it straightened out it'll hopefully ease up.

So...the Ranger main springs...how different are they dimensionally from Tacoma springs?

Thanks for the guidance, Doug, even if it wasn't good news. I appreciate it.

    Cheers,

    Lee
