Ok need some help. Either I'm stupid or these 2012 leaf springs might not work. They measure just over 53 inches from eye to eye unloaded. My current eyes on the "shackles" are 54 3/4 inches apart. They are not adjustable. Is this 1+ inch difference able to be compensated for by the preload that will be added to the new leafs when the load of the vehicle is on them? Do I loosen the bottom bolt on the rear shackle and instal the leafs then add the weight of the truck to the springs and retighten the bottom rear bolt? Thanks!!!!

Why don't you take a string and measure along the leafs themselves to find actual spring length?

Nah, will keep close to the same size I have now. (285/60/18) but the wheels I have now are too wide, and rubber for them is $$$$. For some new 18" Toyo's I am lookin at 1300-1400. Going down to a 16" and getting the Toyo ATII, it is around 1500. If I get the Cooper STT, I can get that down to 1300.

Then I can sell the 18's and regain some cost.

I may see if the have them in the matte black versus the black satin.

You aren't making sense. If you want same size but less rim, you are looking at 285/75, not 265/75. If you want to go with stock rim, you can do 235/85, 265/75, 265/70, or 255/85.

Thanks mike. String is my friend :D

Turns out the 2013 TSB leaf has a clamp riveted on that's in the way of my wheelers leaf pack. So I took the pack apart and drilled it out. Did some grinding to blend out the area... This is turning into a little bit more of a project then I wanted... Hopefully worth the troubles!!!

looks like my dads mom might die here as early as tonight or tomorrow. Liver shutdown and heart at 24%.
Not sure how I feel about it. dads patents were a bit eccentric and have been hard to live with the past few years. on the other hand, I spent a lot of the summer growing up at their place and a lot of that time with them has shaped me. Grandma made me enjoy board games, sleeping bags in the front room while looking at the moon outside, and enjoying the outside with no more than a stick and a big back yard.

I guess I feel contemplative and it feels like that's the way it should be.

Its still a project. And any project is a fun one

I'm sorry to hear that man. Death is never easy to deal with. No matter how close you were to family members.

Kk I'll take one for the team.. Did you want to link or leaf? Because if you want to link, I'll just have my links/brackets/hangers made in pair so we would have the same lift.
