I was watching combat footage on youtube the other day and the snipers and a few guys with M4's had suppressors, is this normal? i can see the point of being suppressed, but IMO they're sorta expensive for what they are.

    thoughts?

also thank you military and LEO for your service

I can buy another truck for the cost of a set of SF night eyes, supressors are cheap in comparison

Supressors are getting more popular now, from what I've heard

    sub or supersonic?
When i move (next year :woot: ) and i'm 18 i'm gonna set up a trust, and send off 2 form 1's ( 1 for a SBR and 1 for a suppressor) and build a suppressed 300 BLK SBR for a hunting gun.

I recommend checking your local hunting laws. For whatever reason, in the four states I've lived in, suppressors were not allowed for hunting purposes.

Awesome! Never made sense to me why I shouldn't be allowed to put a suppressor on a hunting rifle...

You do realize that even with a trust, you can not even possess a silencer in California?

Silencer, SBR, SBS, and automatic require a California DOJ "Dangerous Weapons Permit" and the BATFE will not issue the NFA stamp without that.
The DWP was created to skirt the law... there is a legal path to own NFA items in California, but if you are non-LEO, the DOJ will not issue.

You CAN form a trust to have an AOW (some of which look suspiciously like SBS), and no DWP is required.
And under Federal law, you need to be 21 for AOW. I'm not even sure you can be on an NFA trust of any kind.

All our designated marksmen rifles were suppressed, but not everyone's. The expense is even less when only a few people get a DM rifle and only in country.

yep, i'm moving next year and i'm doing all my research now, so i can get my stuff ASAP.

i hope i can be on a trust at 18, it'd be stupid for it to be illegal, yet i can build a suppressor (and SBR) at 18.

Building an AR, whether 16" or SBR, is touchy.
The 4473 on a stripped lower is designated "Other", and you have to be 21 to buy anything other than a "rifle".

The rifle designation includes shotguns with shoulder stocks, but not cruisers.

Even in a free state, you can't legally purchase a stripped lower, though your dad or grandfather can give you one.
You CAN purchase a completed AR, then replace the upper with a shorty.
