I just got a third remote for my kid and haven't programmed it yet. Does anyone know if the Tacoma supports three remotes linked to one truck? If so, can I just add the third to the existing two or do I have to reprogram all three. It's actually a used key fob and I think it was registered to another tacoma also if that helps any.

I just purchased an '06. Went through the programing steps as outlined. What I'm after is to get all 4 doors to unlock using the remote. Currently only the drivers door unlocks. However, all the doors lock. What up with that?

Pressing the "unlock" button on the remote a second time (within 1-2 seconds of the initial press) usually unlocks all the doors. This is standard programming for most manufacturers. The theory being if you're approaching the vehicle alone you don't want to unlock all the doors for fear of an intruder lurking nearby...

I have an 05 Sr5 access and it came with 1 black key. Does this program only work with the key fobs or will it program an actual key? And will a key fob even work with my truck?

    Thanks,
    OPie

These steps work for 07 Tacoma, thanks to all for posting these

    Past instructions:
Start with the key out of the ignition. Open the driver door (all other doors are closed). Driver door is unlocked (other doors don’t matter).

    2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds

    a. Insert the key into the ignition (don’t turn it) Pull key out
    b. Insert the key into the ignition (don’t turn it) Pull key out

    3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds
    a. Close, then open the drivers door.
    b. Close, then open the drivers door.
    c. Insert the key into the ignition (don’t turn it) and pull it out.

    4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds
    a. Close, then open the drivers door.
    b. Close, then open the drivers door.
    c. Insert the key into the ignition and leave in the ignition.
    d. Close the drivers door, Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking the engine), then back to off .
    e. Remove the key from the ignition.

    5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.

    6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds
    a. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 1.5 seconds
    b. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock then unlock once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps 6a and 6b as the remote was not accepted.

    7. Open drivers door

Hope this helps, I've come across the need for this type of programming on other vehicle before and I have referred to this website with success before.

I get to step 6 follow the procedure but it always performs door lock twice and can't get the remote to program. I got a 2011 TRD access cab
