Since they allowed that goal with no boarding call, is that why the refs called off the 2nd CHI goal? Awful calls during that game

 

The 2nd goal was waived off for goalie interference. The ref didn't even think about it for a second, he was waiving it off as the puck was crossing the line.

1)Was a hit from behind. 2) Franzen turned at last second. Fortunately he wasn't hurt. It was typical NHL shit. Sometimes its a penalty, sometimes it aint.

It often does seem like the refs expend more energy trying to balance out calls rather than just call the game as it happens. The result is an even bigger shit-show as they call what they feel they need to call as opposed to was they should.

It would have been so easy to call the hit from behind on Franzen and the Hawks probably wouldn't have even argued it seeing how it's been called all year , instead the refs call off a game tying goal for questionable contact
