Walker is my list of to-dos, but most-likely not for this trip. Mainly beause of how far it is, and no one has been there yet. Don't want another Evans experience. :p

Mike and I are gonna meet up tonight to discuss options and get a plan together, so stay tuned.

    :pout:

We left the brewery on the way to my place, a few needed gas so we all stopped. Ben was backing out of a horribly placed parking spot with a more horribly placed air/water pump right behind him. A old POS lexus came to fill up air. Ben really had no way to see them as they came while he was in the store. He went to back out and slightly kissed the bumper. They clearly had no insurance so they decided to drive off as one of the passengers was a 38 year old Hispanic that was late for a 11pm soccer game, in full uniform....WTF. The lady made a big deal but when Ben asked for her insurance card she split. Made for a fun story.

Do I really have to type this out....

Okay, we did the meet'n'greet last month which was awesome. We met at the NWBC for some good beer and meat. Kenny invited back to his place which was pretty close by, and we decided to make a beer run at the AMPM by the Supermall.

We packed our Toyotas in the tiny parking lot, and I took a single spot right by the front of the building. We were ready to roll out so I started backing out of the spot. As I was reversing, some jackass starts asking me if there's a Toyota meet going on or something, so I was yelling at him through the window about TW, we kick ass, blah blah blah. Little did I know that a car had parked right behind me. It wasn't blocking me in or anything, but it made for a pretty awkward escape for my long-ass truck. So while I was distracted talking to douchebags'r'us about our TW meet, I checked my backup camera just in time to see me clip the corner of the Lexus' bumper. It left a 5" long black mark on their white bumper, and it wasn't a "nice" Lexus or anything, probably a '98 ES300.

I pulled back in, and out, and in, and out until I could weasel out of the spot, and then parked at the pump to "deal" with it. The nice Hispanic couple who were driving the Lexus were pretty distraught, and wanted to get the cops and insurance involved. Fair enough, whatever, I just didn't want to sit there for 3 hours filling out reports and filing an insurance claim over a lil paint transfer. I guess I was a little intimidating, and tried to explain that they can easily buff out the bumper with a magic eraser or some elbow grease, but Jorge wasn't having it, and his Lolita was convinced that they should call the cops. It may have been the overwhelming amount of testosterone that the 7 of us Taco badasses were exuding, or the realization that they were ruining our night and theirs, but Pancho decided that it was fine, and they were going to leave. Dora was on my side that night, and even though my pride was bruised, we emerged victorious from the trip to AM/Pm, and fun was had by all.

    The End.

Easy with the racism, guys. I don't mind some goodhearted ribbing and an off-color joke told in private with no barbs, but there's other eyes here that might not understand the context.

lol I thought you guys were just being racist about the soccer thing, but I remember the jersey now and her yelling about the 'appointment'. lol.

I also thought it was funny that the 5" black mark became a 2" black mark with a quick spit shine.

Anyway, on to better things! We have a destination decided!
Ben and I spent about 3-4 hours last night poring through websites, a book, and various maps, and we have a winner of a locale. The snow map said no snow for the area, but that's a good thing - it would have been closed or impassable otherwise. We will have plenty of obstacles along the trail to make it look amazing.

I'll let Ben release the details because he's responsible for finding the location was open - I was assuming it was closed until he told me where to find a closure map!

Nice to see you yabos are still hooliganing around and intimidating the locals.

I won't be able to make this weekend, but now that I have proper tires on my Taco, I'm ready to put on another clinic for all the LWB crowd. ;)

In fairness, the ONLY reason I had an easy time of it the one time I rode with you guys at Tahuya was my skimpy reg cab wheelbase... ;) I know my place...

...and it's inline at the parts store as I start to inevitably build my truck for offroading...LOL

Sorry it took so long guys, I've been busy as hell all day. As Sean (rideexileex) suggested, we will be heading East to Liberty, since some of the trails are open as of Monday.

    NEXT EVENT:
    Liberty, Saturday 5/25
    [IMG]

    MEETING PLACE:

    HOW TO GET THERE:

    TRAIL PLAN:

    MAPS:

    PASSES:
No special passes required for this trip, as we will not be parking or using any fee-specific trail heads

    VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS:
    3" Lift Recommended
    33"+ Tires Recommended
    Sliders, Skids, Armor Recommended

RECOVERY GEAR: (If you have it, bring it)
Front and Rear SOLID recovery points REQUIRED
    Winch Recommended
    D-ring Shackles
    Recovery Straps / Tree Savers
    Snatch Block
    Hi-Lift
Spare Tire / Tire Repair kit
    Spill Kit
    Shovel
    Spare Gas Can
    Water
    Food
    Tools
    Gloves

    NOTES:

    • I don't know what to expect from these trails, but they sound kick-ass. Based on what I've heard and read, we'll likely get a mix of rocks, roots, steep hill climbs, off camber, switchbacks, and maybe some mud.

    • I hope to get on the trails by 10:00. We should be able to pack in enough stuff to make for a good all-day trip, so please bring food and drink, and make arrangements to stay late if we want to.

    • There are areas on the maps that indicate some old mining prospects and adits near the 4w325 entrance, and the actual town of Liberty is technically a ghost town. I wouldn't mind hiking around to check out some of that cool ass old shit, as long as it doesn't derail our trip too much.

    • Safety first and tread lightly will be observed. Please be smart, and be prepared to help yourself and/or others in recovery situations. If we find an area that is safe and legal for target shooting....then :quickdraw:

    WHO'S GOING:
    Benson X (Ben aka Dora)
    Chickenmunga (Mike)
    55chevy05taco (Tallon)
    mutilatedjak (David)
    NW4RUNNER (Ken)
    penguins_cc (Will)
    rideexileex (Sean) ???

Let me know if you want to bee added (or removed) from the list, or if you have any questions.

I've never had to change one (yet), but it's a relatively straightforward process, and is doable on the trail. Autozone has them for around $80, and RockAuto has them for around $50

I should really get one too :anonymous:
