Hey yall. im from texas..... south texas! i live in the city but have a ranch about an hour away. yesterday i got up at around 6 am to go corn the roads before the sun came up. i go back get the guns and my friend whose still asleep. and off we go to hunt an exotic animal like a nilgia. . so were sitting in a polaris watching the road and out come two bulls and a cow nilgai.i get my rifle ready and aim. thats when i heard 3 shots pop off at my dam nilgai!! which scarred me have to death. i drove up a ways and saw an f150 parked at my gate. with 3 men with guns laughing and looking at my animal they just poached. so booked it back to the ranch house and told my dad. he whopped out m16 got in his truck and drove over there. as he arrived the poachers were leaving in there truck. so he wrote down the license plate number and called the game warden. those three guys ended arrested and faced several fines and now prison! ( its a felony in texas to poach, punishable by up to 10 years in prison)

You did the right thing by not approaching them. You don't want to panic individuals who knowingly commit a felony and who are armed with high powered rifles.

Poachers..........give the whole hunting thing a BAD name, great for you and your Dad getting them. They deserve all the punishment they can get.

Many a fine animal has been taken because someone poached. I do not have a problem turning someone is for doing so.

I think staking them down over a fire ant hill naked would have been a good start for the bastards!

poachers steal from the guys who actually put in time and effort to get the trophy. the past couple years, i have to admit that i haven't been scouting like i should, and my plots have gone to hell, but that doesn't mean i'm going to go out with a .270 and a spotlight to get a nice deer. going to try and get back on track this year if i can find the time...and the $$$ for fertilizer. will have six freshly cleared acres next spring to plant if i have the money.
