wut as in

1) how is the granite cut wrong ?
2) how is the sink box the wrong size ?
3) all undermount sinks I've ever seen installed are siliconed ( glued ) to the underside of the granite

This is a farm/country sink. The granite needed to be cut 1" wider and was cut too far back so the front of the sink didn't sit flush with the cabinet like it was supposed to. Here is the sink.

Was there a sink template on site when it was measured ?

 

I don't know. Not my issue. It was also not centered in the cabinet or with the window above it. The cabinet and the window are centered with each other. It was just a poor job of measuring for the Granite and then not cutting the granite to the template for the sink.

The guy came back this afternoon to drill the holes for the faucet and my dad showed him all the things that were fucked up and he pretty much agreed. Now they get to figure out how to fix it.

 

Obviously the tops need to be recut , there is no other way

 

Yep, they are really going to enjoy that. If it didn't seem to fit right don't you think you shouldn't have glued it in and dealt with it then instead of try to pass it on as a finished product?

Or are you referring to the piece to piece connections ?

 

Both. The silicon should be easy, but this piece of Granite has a seam on both sides. Not sure how easy that is to get apart.

 

Seams are less likely to seperate without chipping

 

my uncle just had a sink like that installed in their house, and he cut grooves into the countertop to make a build in drainer.

 

I am thinking of remodeling in here.
