Master of the use of space they called him..

Honestly he isn't one of my fave. Chet baker was so much more hip and creative.

Mumbles was interesting. Listening to it and it sounded like he just kind of started saying the same little mumbles over and over again like he couldn't come up with others, although I guess regular songs tend to do that too haha., but it works better because the words have meaning. He Just made it start to seem repetitive. When the band went silent towards the end and he busts out in that like monologue I thought he did really damn good until he leaned in close to talk with the other guy. Once he did that it didn't sound like he was mumbling anymore but like he was speaking another language.

Yeah. not sure where the continental divide is (don't care to google it right now haha) but North Idaho is a lot different than South Idaho and I'm pretty sure I don't into the PNW... I am not a flat lander either. My experiences in Washington and Oregon made it appear that they are flatter than Idaho is. haha I've flown over Washington a few times now and I have driven across Oregon and back, from Boise to the Ocean, stayed in Portland for a few days.

The Continental Divide is basically the Rockies - through ID, MT, WY, CO.... All rivers, streams, etc on the western slope drain into the Pacific, eastern slope into the Atlantic
    Is too!

Well shit I started a great conversation and didn't even get to take part in it.

But maybe you young pups aren't such morons after all. If you aren't careful, you might give me hope.

Anyone seen the Ken Burns Jazz documentary? Exhausting but very interesting. Most of the good music came from blues and jazz. All the big rock bands of the 70s, especially the English, ironically...blues. And Earth Wind and Fire and all that big, funk, brass-backed stuff. Great.

I always loved Zeppelin when I was young. As I got older, I starting appreciating blues and middle eastern music. And then I realized it was all their fault, because that's what they were playing.

And Pandora is fucked up. I need a better option. If you really want to know how lame it is, make a Talking Heads channel and listen to it flail. It also fails to bring in lots of core stuff for a given artist, and keeps replaying the same stuff.

Pretty much all of the water in my area heads for Salt Lake not the Ocean. haha I think there is a line right around Pocatello somewhere where it divides between heading for the ocean and heading for Salt Lake. I know the Palisades Reservoir heads for the Pacific and I think the American Falls Reservoir does too, but most everything south of there heads to the Salt Lake.

I don't care about Idaho - if you want it in the PNW, then let it be. cool beanz.

I roll in WY and MT, and neither is in the PNW. So as long as you leave Wyotana alone, I'm good.

See under appreciated. Why? Cause you are so lyric based haha it's soooooooooo freaking hard to do that. No words are all. Try it. Pull up a song and just try it and then think to yourself does this sound good?? Haha it's impressive. I've done it. Not easy.

    But it is different.

I watched the ken burns thing back in 7th grade or something. It's a great documentary but because wynton Marsalis produced it very one sided. Wynton is very racest against white people haha

And yea all rock comes from blues. Just more simplified even. The chords are very simple and repeat ice. This appealed more to the common man cause human nature likes repetition.

As for streaming online. I'd go give Slackerradio a try. I like it much much better.

Now we're talking. I like Wynton Marsalis's baroque trumpet a lot, I listen to that a lot as a deaf person.

I don't know about repetition per se, but I am a very structured and OCD type person so everything must be categorized and have order. The random improv type stuff just doesn't make sense to me and goes against the grain for me so I don't find it appealing. haha

This is more my type of stuff:D haha
    http://youtu.be/JXAgv665J14

And a whole lot of rock as well.
