Actually, this is a good idea for any active person in a wheelchair--they do get stuck really easily. I've heard of at least one woman out with her dog in the park who died when her wheelchair got stuck in sand and no one was around to help (it got stuck in the sun and her particular disability didn't allow her to regulate her body temp well).

Climbs stairs, supposedly handles sand, can raise the person to eye level of a standing person. You want expensive? Those sumbitches are $26,000.00!! Talk about costing as much as the truck!!
