    Hmm,

The Tacoma is spartan - check.
The Tacoma back seat is not great - check.
The Tacoma is great offroad - check.

Nothing we didn't know. Not a word about reliability, or longevity, or resale value.

The Tacoma is not for everyone - check.

    Good.

This. The Tacoma is now overpriced for what it brings to the table...

yea, I hear Prius got low score in the off road tests also. Corolla scored low in towing. Or maybe CR could just stop testing vehicles out of their intended role.

CR is going to turn Tacoma in to OSHA for head bumping damage to a running 2 year olds as the door entry might be too high for them to crawl up..

It made more sense for me to buy a 20-30k truck for commuting as sometimes I need the bed and sometimes I don't. Kill two birds with one stone. No reason to buy a 15k commuter and a 15k truck, double the insurance less reliability blah blah.

The problem arises when people compare the Tacoma to 50k-60k trucks, obviously they aren't in the same league but show me a better mid size truck than the Tacoma in the same price range.

I think gen 2 is open ended, no last year. Simple math, good sales = why change. Gen1 went for 9 yrs iirc.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
long stopping distances? I thought the Tacoma was best in its class?

YEAH BUT IT'S LONGER THAN CARS!

CARS CARS CARS! NONE OF THESE TRUCKS BEHAVE LIKE CARS!

Consumer reports is useless unless you need a suburban appliance. Not that that's a problem - 95% of the vehicle-owning public needs exactly that. My point is, I'm glad my truck doesn't behave like the goddam Camry.

    Agreed

My Boss bought a 2013 Ram Sport, it's a bloody minivan on the inside. Nice but not for me and I like reliability.

while getting out of their test BMW they said "The Tacoma drives like a truck" Go figure! If I wanted something that drove like a car I would buy a chevy truck all loaded with leather and heated seats!

Good, maybe it'll drop the price of the 2nd gens and make my truck more valuable.

This is why you should be happy and push for other automakers to make a good mid size truck. Healthy competition = better product for the consumer.
