    The vin is created before the truck. The truck could have been ordered to be a TRD by the previous owner but then he changed his mind.

    There was another instance like this where the vin said the truck was a manual but came from the factory as an automatic.

    Just clarifying some terms for ya. TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development, the special packages title. The button everyone is referring to is a Rear Differential lock button, to of course lock the rear diff should you have that option. It doesn't lock the TRD haha.
