    got my ripped cv boot replaced. will be doing the other side saturday. was a pain in the ass as usual. I didn't use andy's help because you guys all make fun of me when I do, so i did it with one of my same friends that helped me with the lift. Had to get a bit of help from andy because of our derp. Trying to get the doj (think thats what its called) off of the shaft that sucker wouldnt move. between me, 2 friends and my friend's dad we couldnt get it to budge. After it started to bend the 12 ton shop press we assumed it was fucked. Andy looked at it and of course us idiots there was a second snap ring a little ways down the shaft we never even saw. Derp for the day right there.

    also i see why there is a 5mph saftey for the locker on stock TRDs. Went to put that bitch back in open today and was going over 5mph and made a loud ass thunk sound. did not sound pretty at all. certainly never doing that again.

    konsta gave me a "special" tool to use to help us get down white knuckle and not destroy our bumpers and rear ends. if you ask nicely ill let you borrow it :D

    Right. But I don't think your supposed to engage the and disengage the actuator while moving.

    Ahh no I was well aware that you have to drive to get it to engage. One of the pros to an arb. It locks way faster.

    And I just said that about the speed...

    But the actuator itself I thought for sure you didn't want it to move with the diff turning..that's what I was saying. Not that it just engages instantly and disengages.

    In my opinion I would never engage the locker while moving. I agree with Monte. I always stop, engage, drive forward in a snaking pattern until it locks. Same goes for disengaging it.

    Monte approves! That's good in my book! Haha :D

    As for the 5mph deal, that's just Toyota keeping theirselves from getting in trouble. I did the grey wire mod so I can use mine at any time. Not a huge advantage, but is nice to play around with. I can see it being a lot of help if you're driving in the dunes and don't want to run in 4wd. Just lock the rear and go.

    Yea I think I have read of guys hitting 50 or more with no issue in the dunes...but not sure on that..

    Yeah, I doubt I'll ever destroy my locker. Most I plan on going is 35's. plus by the time I'm putting enough stress on my locker to possibly break it, it won't be my daily driver any more. By then I'll just use it as an excuse for an ARB. Haha

    Nah I think you'll be fine with 35s and the e locker. Maybe..I guess max destroyed his. But that might've been for something else too..can't remember.

    Hmmm adding up just the parts for what I want to do rings in at around 16,000ish and that doesn't include some other stuff that is gonna e getting done either. That is just for the stuff for my 1 ton SAS. And so yeah 3-4 years min for that. Start collecting parts in January next year.
