I turn mine on if the tail starts getting loose, even if I'm doing 100. I just ease off the skinny pedal, flip the switch, and stomp on the throttle and go back to haulin'. It doesn't hurt anything. The actuator just slides a splined sleeve over the axle. Speed over ground is irrelevant to the function of the Elocker.

 That is too funny. Getting that damn clip off was probably the hardest part of the boot swap for Ben and I but we couldn't find Konsta's tool so we were trying to get it was a little pair of pliers and it kept slipping. haha We at least knew about it though!
This is my take on the factory E-locker. If you read the manual (at least on 2nd gens) Toyota only wants you to engage once you are stuck... If you are stuck in 4-Lo one of you rear tires will be spinning and I'll bet you will break shit if you just hit that locker button and stand on the throttle so one tire is spinning at 20+mph and the other isn't moving when that locker engages. I will engage it at about 25mph or less, but when I do I'm not on the throttle and I basically drive straight down the road with maybe a slight turn, it will usually engage pretty quickly. I have disengaged it at whatever speed though just fine. Anyway that is my reasoning on why Toyota says 5mph.
    Oh? Something like this
    [IMG]
I was hitting 60+ in the dunes with both lockers engaged. Oh and in my experience the ARB isn't much faster than the E-locker. Not even to make much difference anyway.
Max stripped the splines off of his axle. I think he had just put some new axles in or something and apparently one of them was faulty or something. I never have heard the exact facts on this story, just bits and pieces here and there...

    Yea axle or spider gears.

And you won't need it. I wouldn't run it for that long of a trail.

Well no 37's for a bit longer yet... Username convinced me to hold off that and I don't think I could have convinced Candice anyway. Just ordered a new 33. $241 w/free shipping and then $18 to mount and balance and I'll be good to go again:woot:

Not at that price. haha I wish I would have just got 35's or something in the first place instead of these 33's. 255/85R16's KM2's are too pricey when 35's aren't much more. Oh well. Hopefully I don't get another sidewall ding. Plus I don't think a full size spare is super important. I have a 31 for a spare so that should work in a pinch.

I'm tempted to experiment with grinding the calipers to run 15's. My KM2's are $241/tire at discount tires.

    315/75R16 KM2's are $347/tire and MTR's are $335/tire.

    35x12.50R15 KM2's are $258/tire and MTR's are $255/tire.

Brant has his spacers off right now so I might see if he has one laying around. Would be nice to see if the spacers help much or what.

 My only problem with 15's is that I can't get 37" BFG's or Goodyears in them. They only come in 17's. If I go to swampers I can get anything on any size wheel and price doesn't matter much I think, so I might as well stick with 16's if I go that route.

Well it's hit and miss. for some swampers 17's were cheaper than 15's and vice versa. haha
