Bilstein 5100 shocks all the way around, add a leaf in the rear
I finally got myself a big boy job and decided the truck needed some love,

the Power steering had been leaking for what seems like forever, so i ordered the seals for it,
    IMG03392-20130523-1602_181f0ea759bcd4a5c95a5d7ab6a5856005618778.jpg

it was leaking out of the top of the gear housing, so i just pulled that section and resealed it.
    IMG03390-20130523-1535_b9212b9725e0f877539a3c56337fff0e8a24c2da.jpg

i had to make a special tool to remove the aluminum cap.. its like a 32mm 8 point hollow allen key....
I just bought this... a 7/8" coupling nut.. drilled out the center to 1" and ground the tips to make it fit in the 8 point section of the steering gear cap. worked perfect.
    IMG03388-20130523-1340_b7dd4852817e5b2671cc3aca6e595731f619fc31.jpg

put it all back together and re-installed
    IMG03391-20130523-1556_bfb736218b81c292675b24dd27b01cf5f6ac84f4.jpg

I also bought a full set of Bilstein 5100 and some cheap add a leafs to go in for the time being until i can buy a better setup/leaf pack
    IMG03381-20130521-1657_129e224ed0987a0db92751fc677b7d67845c372a.jpg

I managed to get the fronts installed today.

I will be installing the rear shocks and leafs, I also bought a valve cover gasket set

switched to premium grade gas and got 2mpg better ;)

Observed in 3 full tanks and within .7 mpg of each other.

Long term trends are now going into my fuelly app!

Did you have issues before? May need to clean out the combustion chambers with sea foam. More than likely you have carbon build up on top of the pistons. Running premium in a regular speced engine doesn't do squat other than burn a hole in your wallet.

No matter what grade I use I get the same. I run redline fuel system cleaner every oil change. Some times if I remember I'll add some FP60 Plus to every tank of gas. It cleans an lubercates the entire fuel system.

Removed my fender flares to paint them. But with it being too windy and supposed to storm tonight, I'm just going to have to run flareless until next weekend...

Lifted trucks with larger tires always look better flareless, IMO

Stock trucks without flares looks like a base model and weaker, IMO

But if you're after protection, of course run with them.
