I see all kinds of decks out there that feature Pandora via bluetooth but haven't seen one for Grooveshark, which I like much better then Pandora. Anybody know of anything. I did see one item in a Google search but it was some cheesy live radio thing that you plug in, don't even think it's a deck.

    Thanks.

My Pioneer AVh-X2500BT is Pandora equipped too. I can play any website through the bluetooth audio feature (Grooveshark, YouTube, etc.), it just does not have the smart interface to switch songs.

On my Kenwood I can stream anything that you can play on the phone. You tube videos, and games. Anything that would be played via the phone speaker is played through the truck. I doubt you'd ever find a unit that is specifically for groove shark. And I can scroll through songs right there on the deck. Whether I'm using music on my phone, pandora. I can skip around and jump folders.

Any deck with blue tooth audio streaming should be able to play music off of Groove Shark. You just might have to control Groove Shark from your phone.

You might want to look into a subscription based music service. I use MOG (which is like Spotify, Rhapsody, Rdio, etc.) and I can control it from my deck or phone. There are some Pioneers that are 100% compatible with Rdio, and from what I've seen looks like it works really well.

Ok Thanks. I looked into MOG and it's basically the same thing as Grooveshark. The only real difference is that Grooveshark allow uses to upload music. It has to go through approval before it becomes available but none the less, if there's a song you want to add to your playlist or collection, and it's not available, you can upload it. That's a nice feature. The only real problem though is there can be several versions of songs out there and different bit qualities. I like how MOG only has the 1 single album version at a 320 bit rate so the quality is always going to be fantastic for any song. You just don't have the options for all the live music versions of songs that you get with Grooveshark.

I think I'll stick with free Grooveshark for the house PC and I'll probably go with MOG for mobile to play in Tacoma.

The deck I want does have Pandora which is nice but there song library is weak. And you can't listen to specific songs, it's basically a station based from an artist.

I just looked up groove shark as well, pandora seems to have a lot of commercials on the free version now. And they cut me off after 20 hours per month claiming I listen to much.

Ive been using iheart which is good but more is better.

    Thanks

Do it!! I really like MOG and try to talk everyone into using it. They might not have every song in the world, but no one does.

With my current Sony deck, I can stream any audio source (e.g. Pandora, MOG, YouTube, etc.) and info about the song shows up on screen. And I can play, pause, and skip forwards and backwards through the deck. So if you can do the same with Pandora on your deck, I would think you should be good to go with other music sources too. I've also used Rhapsody, Rdio, and Spotify (just the tiral versions) in addition to the MOG on a Kenwood deck and I could play, pause, and skip forwards and backwards through the deck.

Now here comes the part where I try and talk everyone into using MOG...

I really like MOG because their entire library is at 320 kbps. As far as I know, its the only subscription based music service that offers their entire library at that rate. Compared to a wired connection with Pandora, streaming MOG via blue tooth is noticeably better in my truck with stock speakers. If you're kind of tired of Pandora's limited song library, check out the artist radio portion of MOG. Along with the 320 kbps, its what sold me on MOG. Most of the music services out now have artist based radio stations. So basically, if you choose the Coldplay station, it will play Coldplay and other similar artists. And that's how it is on all of the music services. What's different with MOG though, is that you can adjust how much the other similar artists are played in. This video show it better than I can explain it. Note: The iPhone based app looks different than the what's shown in the video, but the features are exactly the same.

I still use Pandora some because they base a lot of what's played on the songs themselves, rather than just similar artists. So depending on what type of music I'm in the mood for, sometimes I do the MOG radio thing, and other times I do the Pandora thing.
