I have a 06 6 speed and about 4 times when it was colder 2nd gear would pop out. I recently replaced the fluid and was looking to do more to prevent this. I read somewhere on older models replacing the bushing at the base helps? Does anyone have a model number for that part?
Also would getting the URD SS eliminate it at all?
    thanks

that's a tough one. let me look around a bit and get back to you. I know what your talking about with the bushing as it was a problem on my old pickup. not sure if these are same design

I had the URD SS in for about 400 miles and just found it too rough to get into reverse. Stock throws are fine for a truck doing truck things... Try a new ball seat first.

Thanks to both of you. I really didnt want to get the S.S. because the throw doesnt bother me just really want to never deal with this popping out again and I am open to anything.

A worn Syncro will make it "pop out of gear" as you describe. Don't rest your hand / arm on the shifter it is the most common cause of syncro wear. Yeh I know "everybody does it"...
