After almost a year of looking for a nice 01-04 Tacoma X-cab, I finally got a 2002 in last week from Oregon. It was a pain in the ass to get it over to Hawaii, but well worth it.

Only 28K on the odometer and super clean in and out, Classic soft trim custom leather interior, 3.4 supercharged and 488 gears. I wanted a 5-speed, but this one's an auto and the transmission valve body was sent out to IPT Performance and has a shift kit with trans oil cooler.

Fabtech coil overs and 3" body lift which will be removed in the near future for a Fabtech suspension and Alcan springs, also going to have the fender flares and valance color matched.

Tires are 33 inch Toyo MT's with 15x8 Mickey Thompson Challenger rims. Line-X bed liner and Line-X on the underbody.

Cant wait to test it on the Hawaiian sand!!

Damn!! Sweet deal! I feel like Oregon has the good Tacos, that's where I got mine after a ton of everyday searching. Post a pic or two of your undercarriage, I wanna see what the Line-X looks like underneath!!

Get that 3" BL off and you'll be golden! How'd you manage to find an 02 with only 28K miles?

I know...can't wait to get the suspension.

I would search Craigslist almost every night  I wanted to find a Tacoma under 40K, I would start off searching in Hawaii, but guys here are asking way too much and the trucks have lots of miles, if you do find a low mile Tacoma 4x4 in Hawaii expect to pay 20K or more......I would then look in California, Washington, Oregon and that's where I seen the truck listed, I thought the mileage was a typo and called the owner and he sent more photos, the owner had a company vehicle so the truck was always garaged and hardly used and he took good care of it and only used synthetic fluids.

Forgot to mention that the truck has a nice sound system and a Clifford alarm.

Wow nice truck! I was also in the market for a clean Tacoma last year before I pulled the trigger and bought a new one. I love my truck, but I still wish I got an older one so I could build it up with the extra money I would've saved. I was looking on craigslist for months and I started considering purchasing one from one of the neighbor islands, but was concerned about the cost to have it shipped to Oahu. How did you ship your truck? How much did it cost from Oregon (if you don't mind me asking). Mahalo

I hear ya bro! I was thinking the same thing and was going to buy a 2013 as I thought I would never find a early 01-04 Tacoma with low miles at a decent price.

I had the truck put on a trailer from Oregon to Seattle and that cost $450, I went with a company in Arizona called Motor Movers auto transport and dealt with a guy named Patrick, he was awesome, he finds the truck driver and they make sure the trucker is fully insured with a zero deductible, he also did all the Matson booking for the ship ride to Hawaii, that cost $1000, so I spent a total of $1450 to get it here.

Also, the truck arrived in perfect condition....not a scratch, the trucker and Matson did a heck of a job! If anyone needs to move a car or truck cross country or to Hawaii, I highly recommended Motor Movers and ask for Patrick. http://motormoversautotransport.com/

    Thanks!

Nice! I need to start looking into that as I'm headed back to the rock in a couple months. Was only looking into Matson and Horizon Lines. Do you know if they shipped it exposed to the ocean air or was it in a container on the ship?

    Where are you located?

I'm not sure if it was in a enclosed container, but I don't think the truck was exposed to the ocean salt breeze as I didn't see any salt residue on the exterior or windows, it may have been in a lower deck garage as I know some transport ships have them.

The truck was a little dusty as I just missed the Sunday ship in Seattle by 4 days and Matson set sails every other Sunday from Seattle, so it sat on the dock in Seattle for a week or so, took it home the day it arrived and pressure washed the exterior, engine and under carriage. I was off today and clay barred the exterior with the Mothers clay kit and waxed it up. Came out really nice!

I have to say thats sweet, but not sure about color matching the flares. Line-x them and be done.
