Seriously I will have no BS, emoticons or any animal sounds in this thread. I want nothing but adult conversation In its complete seriousness.

Quit acting like this is a truck forum on the World Wide Web and you can just BS about anything you want! There's no such thread for such immature posts.

I think I'm going to have to have a conversation with my accountant, my 401K is just not where I need it to be these days.

lol ok, here's a paper I wrote for an English class a couple months ago on defining "common sense" and how it is not so common anymore.... enjoy (if you absolutely LOVE reading)

The phrase or denotation, “common sense” is so ubiquitous that it is almost idiomatic. As Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart once said about pornography, “I’ll know it when I see it” – but nevertheless is difficult to define. To begin to answer the question “what is common sense?” one must first explain what it is not.
Instinct is a natural and inherent impulse or behavior; an intuitive reaction not based on rational conscious thought. For example: a fight or flight response to an imminent threat of danger is a manifestation of our instinct of survival. We react with emotions of fear, love and hope. We react to fear to escape imminent danger or we flail our way out of the predicament. Hope would relate to yearning for things that will help an individual to survive. Another type of instinct is procreation. One’s sexual desire to procreate is also focused on survival and continuing one’s kind. The love for one’s spouse, the parental love for their child, and the willingness to risk his or her life to protect the child is a result of the instinct to procreate. We can choose to override certain instincts where urgency is not a factor. However these natural impulses are acted out without thought and therefore must be excluded from behavior regarded as “common sense”.
If instinctual impulse, and the behavior that results are not accompanied by ‘thought,’ then what is? ‘Reasoning’ is certainly a process of thought, but is ‘common?’ The term "analytic reasoning" refers to recognizing patterns and connections in a variety of problems. Based on these patterns, individuals who are performing analytic reasoning can use those patterns and connections to make predictive statements. Applying analytical reasoning allows one to draw conclusions from information that is not stated in the information itself. For instance, in business, if a decrease in sales is part of a seasonal pattern of ups and downs, or part of a greater downward trend the business should be worried about. This involves picking apart the information and carefully analyzing various outcomes to achieve the best resolution. The amount of variables involved far surpasses the ability for a quick decision and establishes the need for analytical thought.
Empirical thought is a source of knowledge acquired by means of observation or experimentation. When men lived in the open land- hunting, fishing and herding livestock, the signs and indication of weather changes were of great importance. One would observe a red sunset and predict fair weather the following day, which could well be the case, but this is purely empirical thought because it is based on observation. They had learned from repeated observations that certain things happen in certain fashions. Empirical observations and records provide the basic material of scientific knowledge and day-to-day decision-making by helping us make predictions.
Both reasoning, or if you will, the analytical thought process and empirical thought could be a basis for common sense. It seems to me the distinction is how difficult the question is, how “common” the question is to human experience and how many variables must be considered in order to solve the problem. In today’s more technically oriented world where society itself takes care of peoples basic needs, most questions that people are forced to confront do not necessarily call upon “common sense”. We react instinctually to physical and emotional stimuli and in deciding complex questions regarding our employment, our education, and our future. By necessity, we rely upon analytical reasoning.
“Common sense” can thus be concluded to be a quick evaluation of an issue to arrive at a decision concerning a non-complex problem or dilemma that is “common” to the human experience and has few variables. In short, a quick rational thought process to an obvious situation.
Most of our reasoning and the decisions we have to make, fortunately or unfortunately, do not involve common sense. Modern society takes care of most of our basic fundamental needs that in the past required common experiential reasoning. The decisions we face usually require more complex thought processes. In the modern world we simply are not required to exercise common sense as we were in the past and suffer the consequences for our failure to do so. We should also note that, unfortunately, there are people with diminished capacity who do not learn from experience or their environment and therefore what makes sense to most of us would not necessarily make sense to them. The rest of us are merely out of practice.

What in hell does the OP think this is ?This is not channel 4 and definatly not the Oprah Winfrey show. So I think you should put your girl panties back in the drawer and pull out the big boy undies, not the lace ones..

Yes, thank you for noticing kind sir. They say you live and learn and I have learned that plastidipping my tires once a year adds a few thousand miles to the life. They get a little squirrely though in the rain. I recommend summer use only.
