I have a block in the rear :anonymous:

I will eventually be removing the block for an AAL

haha got ya. thats my only complaint with the baja is they didnt do anything to bring the back up after they lifted the front. you can get an AAL from wheelers for pretty cheap, and good quality. I like a little rake though... checked with my dealer the other day, they have two bajas in stock, but close to 40k! im sure i could get it cheaper but at the same time, its really not all that different from my truck, and i might as well just dump money into what i already have to make it BA.. like you are doing.

Just went for a test drive. The suspension rides nice and smooth. It definitely needs an alignment though.

I noticed this when I got back....any ideas what the heck is wrong?

Yeah a new truck would be nice, but I paid it off a few months ago so there is no way I am getting into debt for a new vehicle. It is fun to look though. I found that putting a couple of new parts on the truck always squashes the desire for a new truck.

Yeah I am really glad they haven't changed anything major yet. If they added a diesel or v8 option, or a sweet solid front axle rock crawler edition it would be hard not to buy it

Typically this is due to not aligning the upper three studs on the top hat to the lower shock cross bolt. So when it was installed the lower bolt did not line up so force was used to make it align and moved the rubber isolator.

Other way it happens is due to when the spring uncoils from the spring compressor and does so in a twisting motion.

The first part I mentioned is the typical reason. Need to mark the top spring perch before braking apart the original set for easy alignment to lower shock bolt. If you paid this to be done it would bother me enough to get it fixed.

I sprayed my 5100's with a clear paint to keep them from corroding since I live in a area with salt. Most bilsteins finish turn to crap pretty quick.

I am also guessing toyota requested the clip adjustment on the front shocks to help level the typically tacoma drivers side sag since both coils are the same spring rate compared to the factory coils being left and right designated. Possibility??????

Ahh, yes looks like he did - the advantage of mounting it the other way seems to be that you can remove the reservoir without having to unfasten the mount.

He put my mount too close to the shock so even reversed I still have to take the mount off. No big deal unless this thing has to be removed all the time and still it's 5 min.

I'll take some more photo's tomorrow, here is a quick before and after.

The bags are filled to approx 7 lbs and even with that little psi it makes a difference in height. I need a new pressure gauge, not sure if mine is accurate.

Driving wise, so far it's been great. No more brake dive and roll in the turns, not harsh whatsoever. A bit more firm but in a good way, at least to me.

    Measurements:

    Front After Driver/Passenger: D36 14/16 - P36 13/16

    Rear Original Driver/Passenger: D36 4/16 - 36 2/16
    Rear After Driver/Passenger: D38 1/16 - 37 5/16

Littleblue81 your truck looks good! Can you post a pic of the brake line bracket installed? And where did they put the 2 large washers? Are those for the front bump stops?

Why does Toyota of Morristown's website say these are only for a 2WD model?

their website is a little confusing, but it sounds like you didn't go through and select your model of vehicle....

there is only 1 baja kit, they are all the same. give Rich Schaefer a call at Toyota of Morristown's parts dept. , he has sold a few of these already and he can set you up.

This suspension is awesome. It rides 1000x better than the Toytec ULK i had before.

    Hey Brandon,

Just saw your other post, exactly what part of the brake line bracket do you want to see? The ones on the rear?

Is your rear suspension harsher than the front? Not sure if you've seen my other thread but I think the spacer on the airbags is give me a harsh ride in the back on bigger hits. Even a big speed bump, the front will cruise over super soft, the back will soak up some and then kind of hit abruptly. I'm guess you're not having any of those issues huh?

I found it. I was at my dealer today and asked their parts department if I could get this kit installed and they said no.

Yeah that's why I send everyone to Rich Schaefer at Toyota of Morristown. He can get it. I don't think any dealer in Gulf States will sell it to you.

I think I have the bracket figured out, thanks.

My rear suspension rides good. I only have the 4 leaf pack and a block. It's not harsh at all.
