I don't. The most I have done is moved a lot of hand line and wheel lines and built fence and such. My Grandpa had about 800 acres at least 500 of which was farm land, all hay and grain, (that is where I moved all the hand and wheel line and built some fence haha). The other 300 acres was all graze land for his ~100 head of cattle.

My father in law farms about 600 acres of hay, grain, beans, beets, and corn. My wife has spent more hours in a tractor than I think I have spent in a vehicle haha. I've helped them move hand lines, wheel lines and built fence as well as help with the 150 head of cattle they have. 10 of which are my wife's actually. She has her own brand even! She started her heard back in 8th grade so she's had them for 10 years now.

So no, I don't really know farming, but I know a little about it. My wife on the other hand knows a lot.

That's pretty neat, Brady! Glad you have some experience with that... The line between farming and ranching is thin there, but sounds like they are mostly farmers, larger scale than I, for sure. :)

Yeah, around here there are lots and lots of people with both farm land and cattle, very very few that just do one or the other.

Nice pics from your trip Ben! I figured I'd ask this in here since this thread moves faster, but how is Geoff doing? I hadn't heard anything since that depressing thread he made a while back....

so the fox coilover might already come with 600lb coils....

But theyre adjustable from 0-3" of lift? or are they shorter?

    Goddamn gotta research moar now

 Kind of like a question I have been meaning to research. When exactly do you consider a spring preloaded. For example the 5100's are designed to be run with the OEM springs. So I would assume they are not preloaded when they are set at 0, but they are still slightly compressed so they must have some load on them when just seated in the coil. Then take the fact that I am running 886's set at 0 in mine. Do they count as being not preloaded since I set them at 0 even though they are 2-3" longer than the OEM coils? Or take the OME shocks, they aren't pre-loadable I don't think, but are the 886's on them considered not pre-loaded even though the 886's are 2-3" longer than the 883's-885's?

im assuming pre-loading is when the coil is compressed by moving the bottom coil seat; all coils are going to compress a little with the weight of the truck, but if you're adding more compression to that, that's pre-load

    or something

    fuck

    fuck!
    haha

but what about shocks with threaded coil seats that you can adjust up or down and don't really have a "0" spot. haha

Plus if you look at the physics of a shock any compression at all would technically be pre-load wouldn't it. haha

All I know is I want a full three inches out of my shock with the least amount of pre-load

my rear is close to 4.5", if I have the front lower than 3 I look like im begging for anal

theyre awesome when loaded, kinda stiff when not

throw camping stuff in the back or a few macadamia nut bags full of gravel, they ride like butter

I'm worried about killing them by putting them into negative arch though. Extra down travel would be nice, but ideally I want more uptravel. haha Maybe I can run a longer shackle or something. I'll have to look around some more.
