1st gen tacoma wheels on my 2nd gen tacoma

If those are 16"s they're off a 3rd Gen 4Runner and not a 1st gen Tacoma.

 

Yeah I found that out. I'm pretty sure they are 4.5" back spacing so they should still fit.

So I took my truck to get the wheels and tires put on and they said that they don't work. They hit the caliper?!? Should that happen? They wouldn't even install them. That's bs

 

Did you have to grind your calipers?

 

No. They fit perfect! Really filled out the wheel well with less backspacing...

 

That actually doesnt look that bad... Thinking about painting them black?

 

Nice man. I don't know why the wheels I have didn't fit . They are off a 3rd gen 4runner but from what I was told they are the same backspacing as 1st gen tacoma wheels

 

see if you can grind a little off the caliper, more than likely it is just barely rubbing..

 

I have been thinking of trying that but it seems kind of sketchy to me. I probably am just going to buy wheel spacers and stick the tires on my stock wheels.

 

This is probably a dumb question but will putting wheel spacers on allow my wheels to clear the calipers?

 

Did you have to modify anything to run those wheels are you running wheel spacers

 

GUYS you don't have to modify anything...all you have to do is put them on its not Rocket Science.

Did you switch your TPMS sensors over or just by pass them?

 

Those 4runner rims were 16s and didn't fit.? What did you end up doig with the rims

 

I put them in a PVC tube about two years ago. I have only added air one time since then. I found the "how to" on these forums somewhere.
