Jay Leno advises to limit your car washes. Water=rust, after wash use a detailer as often as you can..........

The truck is only a few months old. It was fairly easy getting the interior to look like that. The focus of this project was the process of detailing a new car. There's a lot more to it than people think.

That's because he lives in So. Cali. where it seldom rains and he keeps all his shit in a ungodly garage... so yeah... he doesn't have to wash them. That's like saying "don't drive your car in the rain.. it might get rust on it";)

Yeah, around here that doesn't really apply unless you live 5 feet from the beach.

I'm inland about 15 miles where it's very dry and low-humidity. I can wash my cars once a week and have zero problems.

Plus, I usually blow dry them down to get most of the water out of crevices and what not. Also, I started quick detailing too. I used to wash once a week, but now I wash once every 2 weeks and quick detail in between. The truck though, that one gets washed once a month.

    no thanks. 28 hours??!!

while i appreciate a clean ride, i use my truck to often in the dirt. i would be wasting time, money, effort.

i do keep the interior relatively clean for a hunting vehicle. for me it would be like spit shining my shovel. it is a tool at this point. it is gonna get dirty on occasion.

Mine gets washed every time it rains (except for the 3 months this last winter where it pretty much rained every day). If it's raining I rinse it off when I get home (yes even in the rain) and when I get to work but I can rinse it off inside the engine bay there so no big deal. Makes a huge difference in cleaning.

I'm happy to see that people have found a therapeutic outlet for otherwise crippling cases of OCD.

I posted a thread in the detail section on how to use polish. think you can help me out?

I was using meguires #2 (medium cut) to try and remove some oxidation and swirls from my hood and roof and found it very difficult. it wont remove until dry, and once dry, is apparently buried in the paint! I only did the hood, and it seems dull, like it didn't come off.

applied with microfiber- attempted to remove with micro-fiber. 75-80 deg today, and I was in the shade, any ideas?

Not everyone buys a truck to beat the shit out of it. I dig a clean ride and would like to keep mine that way if I could find the time.

Hey B. Turner nice stripes. What are you cutting with?

21" Honda push mower with a quadacut blade. I do all my own yard work. When we lived in our old house we had 3+ acres and it was nothing but weeds. I taught myself how to do lawn care and got a license to buy the chemicals needed. In 2 years it looked like a golf course

Back when I was 20 or so we went to Indy to watch the race. We drove through this really nice neighborhood and I told myself I would have a yard like that one day. Now I do.:)

Eh, its a truck.... Try to keep it clean, but it somehow just keeps getting dirty! I will clay it once a year, try to wax it once a month (minimum), and keep the undercarriage clean/free of rust. Funny how having a kid will dramatically lower the amount of time you can spent working on your truck!

Put her to work like I do mine lol. My 8 year old daughter actually stayed outside with me singing Pearl Jam and Pink Floyd to me the whole day while I was messing around with the truck. You ask her who Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, etc... is and she says "who"? She only really listens to the music that I listen too. Also been teaching her guitar so and she is doing pretty good with that.

My other Baby (Yes I know it has a polka dotted strap on it. Thanks to my Daughter)

I play "Smile" by David Gilmour to her every night when she goes to bed and have since the day she was born. It just seemed to fit when she was a baby and up in the middle of the night crying.

That is awesome! Definitely can appreciate you teaching her guitar, especially at 8 - she will never have to say "I'm Bored" or something along those lines.

You can be damn sure that when we have a child - he/she will listen to the same type of music yours does and will be learning guitar as well.
