    Hi all,
Know I have seen a lot of this going around the fourms, just wanted to share my experance... Noticed a noise in my Left Front (Drivers Side) Front wheel @ 30,000 miles, thought it was probably a tire, had them rotated, noise seemed to go away, execept really cold days.... The noise was most evident between the speeds of 65-70 mph. Fast forward to 49000 miles, and it is a loud noise that doesn't go away ever, and almost starts a vibration in the truck... For all those with less than honest dealers, BOTH of my local stealerships stated that wheel bearings fall under your powertrain warranty..... Don't let them tell you otherwise. Went to my local shop (trusted, decent prices) to diagnose the problem, nearly 300 on labor alone! If your truck is less than 5 years old and has less than 60000 miles, would strongly suggest you get this issue checked. I am going to Toyota on Friday to have the bearing replaced.

On another off handed note, have seen some complain of the stock tires put on the Tacoma, have gotten nearly 50000 miles out of them, probably still good for another 10000!

Confused by that statement, but glad you are going in for the fix, sometimes they just freeze and snap the spindle, usually, they give plenty of warning (noise) before they go..

So, is it a warranty issue or part of an extended powertrain warranty?

Toyota Standard power train warranty is 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
