Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

I'm planning on putting in a whole house natural gas generator next year or going with a big honda and a transfer switch.

 

I use my miller bobcat 225 welder and backfeed through my dryer plug...9500 watts continuous and 11000 peak...I can run the whole house except the ac and water heater at same time...so I just turn off the ac and take a shower then turn ac back on

 

Nice .... I had cheap 3500 for a few years and when the last hurricane hit, I threw the towel in afterwards and got a Generac 10k, 12.5k peak... Our house is small, so it runs everything nicely.

 

I know linwood had bike mounts on his and I had the rotopax.

Never looked at tracks. Could probably use some mac's tie down tracks.

 

You get those rock lights figured out?

 

Haven't opened the box yet. Gotta spend some family time before I can work on the truck. Probably going to do it next weekend. Want to do all things electrical at once. Clean up existing wiring, rock lights add a switch, fuse block with breaker, and wiring up fridge. I better collect the parts first so linger than next week.

 

Umm yeah ... Mine are pretty loud. At first it bothered me but now.. I am used to it and it's nothing. Come by and I will take yah for a spin and you can listen. LOL

 

Nice, I need to clean up my wiring/accessories that I installed before I did the fuse block.

Yeah, pisses me off everytime I look at it.. But it is what it is.. I'll see him in court on 6/18.

Yeah--- You and everyone else I have told about what happened have said the same thing..... I don't know him personally but... I have well (had) someone witness this dude do it. So the case relies on this girls testmony.. So we will see what happens. Worth a shot to try to get him to pay for it. If the judge or the winch changes her story I didn't loose anything by trying I will just have to move on and get it fixed. Overall-- it sucks but I stood up for myself and my truck so them.

Anyone on here know how to "Flash/Re-excite" a generator? I gots an older coleman powermate that needs it done and Im afraid of blowing somthin ups.

 

They're pretty loud but you get used to it after a while. I am running them now and would also be happy to take you for a spin in the truck so you can hear them yourself.

 

Best way to remove pinstripes other than hair dryer/heat gun?

 

I recall something you attach to your drill that won't hurt your paint just as long as you don't leave it in one place too long

I was able to just peel them off after it sat in the sun for half a day. I'm sure it helped that the truck was new and they pinstripes had only been on for a couple of months. But I was definitely surprised how easy they came off.

A little Goo Gone on a microfiber took off the residue as well.

 

Anyone have an OEM toe hitch available?
