In the area of los angeles or sd or riverside, ill drive dont really have a choice it seems.
title says it all, I can leave my k&n intake as a deposit and a case of beer as a non refundable deposit biggrin_f5106c9b57ecb8b41452c59a81cb06cdf04e8b9a.gif

Not sure what else I can do, my truck will pass emissions but not visual. doubt Ill find a cool smog shop.

just thought id give this a chance..

    thanks for any help

lol well it specifies intake in the title, I guess to be more specific the complete OEM intake tube, box etc.. whatever is replaced when you put the k&n on it's been so long I can't really remember.

Many of us still think an intake is an intake manifold.

You want a stock air cleaner housing I think?

He needs a stock air intake, he has a K&N CAI and they are not legal in CA. They'll pass emission but not visual inspection

I dont know ive been using this username since I was like 13, it basically means fucked up or ruined. which is fitting for my situation lol.

I've been a member over at another tacoma forum since 05 under this user, not sure if its against the rules to post the link but back at the time it was the only place i found for tacoma enthusiasts. it seems dead today so i regged up here.

yes exactly, I cannot believe I was stupid enough to not check if it was street legal in Ca when I bought it but back in 06/07 I was just a dumb kid with little to no knowledge about this stuff and I just knew my 4banger was a dog after I put 31x1050x15s on and I needed any help I could get

Yeah no biggie. A lot of people in CA run CAI's, but hold on to the stock intake and swap out when smog time comes around

Yep Im hoping one of them is on here and kind enough to help me out. I kept my stock air cleaner but (arghh it still is a knife in the gut to think about this) but I moved out of my apartment and completely forgot about it, as it was in a storage closet. Didnt realize what I did it until about a year later. Someone got themselves a free year old air cleaner assembly, which looks to be still going for about $550. ughh makes me feel ill. not to mention now my truck is basically boned because of this situation and stupid ass california regulations.

Well OP looks like you maybe Borked. lol

and ha smog test. thats funny... We don’t have any testing here. I think only like 3 or so counties out of 94 in the state have some kinda emission tests, and I’m not in one of them thank god. I have been thinking about knocking my 2nd set of cats out since out trucks have 2 sets.

See thats one of the problems with The Peoples Republic of Commiefornia. If it passes the frakkin emissions who gives a shit what it looks like? Visual inspection? Time to fire all your stupid commie politicians.

I got their inspection right here. :jerkoff::brianr:

That's something I never understood. Who gives a shit what it looks like. If it gets the job done and passes emissions I don't see the issue.
