We started with 17, ended with 16. We had a guy literally almost die in front of us, luckily one of my team members was an EMT and kept him alive until the medics came and shocked him back to life. After that, one of our members fell off one of the 7' falls, got the wind knocked out of her and gave up. I think she was still really rattled by the one guy we saw collapse though. Other than that, we all took off at the same time, then split into groups at mile 2. We had a fast, medium and slow group. Then around mile 5 I think it was, where the log carry is, the middle group waited for the slow group and we went as fast or slow as we needed to make sure the entire team made it to the end.

Done, you're hired! My dad came to watch and I'll bet he walked over 3 miles following the spectator course.

It was the scariest thing I'd ever seen. I didn't know CPR so I just helped keep people back. The guy on my team and another guy switched on and off and did CPR for almost 8 minutes until the medics finally got to us. I took the CPR and First Aid course at work 2 weeks after the event after seeing first hand how useful it is to know, just in case.

Found this guy when walking a trail with my wife last night:

Didn't even make it to the tall grass for a nap. I got rather close to take the picture and s/he didn't even budge.

I used to be required to have my first aid/ CPR certifications. Wish I Still was, it was defiantly good stuff to have.

I know the new red cross CPR has no breaths anymore, just chest compressions. Pretty simple, find correct place for compressions two fingers below diaphragm, and compress until more help arrives.
