Heat wave!! What no fan???

So we have some warm weather 90's
I went to turn on fan/ac no go?
Both fuses # 1 and # 41 looked good?
Any thoughts?

 

pound around under the glove box some and see if you can get the blower motor to kick on or not.

X2. I had to do this almost every other day during the winter. Since its been warm, maybe twice.

 

When I worked as a service advisor at a Toyota dealership, this would happen from time to time.

People were surprised when I told them to just go ahead and try to keep it working by hitting if it didn't come on... instead of cramming a new blower motor down their throat.

Probably why I didn't last that long in that job

I was too honest to just sell stuff people didn't necessarily need.

 

I have an '04 taco with a blower motor about to die I think. It's making a un-healthy sound. Is it a big job?

It might need to be replaced eventually, but might as well make it last as long as you can!

 

My fan has been doing this for a while works great on HI but sometimes it stops working on lower speeds. Hitting it works every time, easier when I have passenger with me... I just ask the passenger to kick with left foot...lol I bet its loose connection somewhere, too lazy to take it apart, though...

 

Its fan resistor, clean it or replace it

Last week it was almost 100 and got in my truck turned te AC on and it immediately stopped working. Pulled apart the knob and everything and the clips in the back of the AC controls had broke. The springs and metal contacts in there had all fallen out, put everyone back together and duct taped in the back and works fine again!

 

Anyone have a AC switch problem? My AC works on high only. Can anyone help? This is a 2010 Tacoma.

 

Click on the link in post 14 above. Good writeup on how to change the blower motor resistor. That is what you need. Classic failure. Switch is 99 percent going to be okay.
